I bought this immersion blender to use to make my own baby food. After using it to make my first batch, I was sold. This thing is amazing. It works so fast, I was done in no time flat! It works well doing big batches or individual servings. I've also used it when making twice baked potatoes, and it works awesome for that, too. My husband always laughs at how excited I get about using it. :) I highly recommend this!

This fantastic little hand blender is easy to use and easy to clean. I use mine every morning to make myself a delicious smoothie. Thanks to this little blender, my favorite lime-cilantro dressing recipe is now simple and quick. I may just give away the full size one.

It arrived on time. I use it for smoothies. My all time favorite is spinach, little bit water, splash pineapple juice and some pineapple fruits. I haven't used it for other purposes yet. It is small size but perfect for my tiny kitchen. Also, you can remove from the bottom to go. I haven't used it to travel with me because I was afraid I might break it and that I wanted it to last longer.

- I think its got a 175 watt motor. The size of fruits pieces I put in range from 2cm X 2cm to about 4cm X 3cm.
- 3 second pulse and 5 second wait. Harsher use will blow the motor out. Light duty only.
- Blend in it. Drink from it. Clever, and convenient for me.
- I don't have to worry about having another bulky thing to stuff in while packing as I keep moving often. Its small.
- It will fit in most cup holders in cars.

Use it sensibly and it will be worth every cent you put into buying it and more.

Tips:

- Hold the lid down firm while blending. It doesn't really leak, but if its full to the brim the pressure might force some liquid out of the gaps.
- If you smell something burning, wait for 30 seconds before you continue blending.
- Rinse it soon as you're done with your smoothie. If stuff hardens near the blades, it will be difficult to clean it as the blades are not very accessible (without removing them. Repeated removing might loosen the attachment at the bottom.)

this inexpensive blender has the stuff to make incredible smoothies and frozen drinks. i recently made gazpacho with it, however the blending was TOO good, as i like my soup a little chunky. i am very happy with this product so far: it's easy to clean and it's perfect for what i need a blender to do.

Love this blender. Works great, simple, one speed blender. But beware it is loud.
Other than that I would recommend it. Why how often do you really use the various speeds on other blenders? If your like me, I always go for the high speed anyway. Nice glass container. Simply a classic!

This blender is superb, it doesn't slow down... i just need the various blades. its a snap to clean just run it with some soapy water and wipe down the chrome. i gave it 4 stars because it doesn't dispense money... yet.

I love this blender, I buy it almost 4 years ago and it still working really good, and I use it almost every day, to make salsas, smothies, a puree for my baby....
I think it is a good blender for the price.
after 4 yrs of use I'm lookig for the black plastic base to replace it, but the blender still works with out it.

This is a good blender for a modest price. It has a glass jar which is something of a rarity these days considering the low price. There are numerous speed selections which all work as expected. The blender is attractive if one wants to leave it on the counter top. It has a feeling of sturdiness. All in all, this is one nice blender and the price is right. I have used it numerous times and it performs well.

I purchased this blender on 5/21/10. Though this is my first Oster blender, it is by far not my first blender. But after comparing the looks, features, capabilities & price of Oster blenders against other brands I decided to purchase this one.
As for the looks, it is a beautiful looking appliance, especially for my kitchen where stainless steel & black reign.
The features in this blender are exactly what I was looking for, since my last blender did not have an ice crusher,& being able to store the cord is important to me.
The capabilities so far are up to my demands, it makes the best fruit smoothies, with no lumps and real quick in a matter of seconds.
The price was within the range I had budgeted for this appliance.
However, remember that this blender comes with a glass jar, which makes it heavier to lift when full and also needs more attention when cleaning it.....and so two months later as I was filling the glass jar in the sink with soap suds it accidentally tipped over & broke...:( I have replaced the glass jar, but wonder why can't these blender jars be made of plexi-glass to avoid breakage...just a thought...I do still love my blender...:)

The plastic drive wheel in the base of my MB blender broke in two. From what I've read this is a major problem with the machine. A replacement part is not availabe rendering the blender and all its attachments useless. Poor product support

I love this product! It's a great investment, easy clean up, convenient. I use is primarily for smoothies and protein shakes. I love that it is small and it has it's own corner in my kitchen. Every home could probably use one of these.

I love to blend things. I'm a sauce fiend, and I've been lusting over the MBE since my roommate in college had one. I purchased the MBE and have been blending sauces, smoothies, and vegetables for purees almost every night. My favorite thing is that it is SO easy to clean, and I love how it comes with four mugs for smoothies. Nothing better.

First of all, I don't have much experience using Blender. I use blender to make some baby food for my 8 month old daughter. I once ordered a traditional blender for about $18. I returned it because it is so loud and not working well. A friend recommended this to me. So I placed the order from Amazon. I love it from the first minute. It's so easier to use and clean. It can chop green vegetable and some types of fruits very quickly.

I bought this blender a couple of weeks ago with the express purpose of making blended coffee drinks. I was skeptical that it was going to do a decent job of crushing the ice but as long as I added liquid it did an awesome job. I tried crushing the ice first then adding the liquid but it works best when you add everything at once. I haven't used the spout yet I just dump the contents into my cup from the jar since I'm the only one who uses it and I only make 1 serving at a time. I figure with the price of $16 it's already paid for itself and then some (considering I used to spend over $4 a day at Starbucks) and I can make my drink using sweet n' low and soy milk just like them which saves tons of calories and is great because I'm lactose intolerant. For me, at least, this blender is a keeper.

I bought this blender 1 month ago after reading awesome reviews. I use it almost every day for protein shakes and just yesterday while it was blending it started to smoke from the base, stopped working then flames came out from the top of the base. I had to throw water on it to make it stop. I called the Black and Decker customer support since there is a warranty on this but I have yet to get through to anyone.
It might be worth it to spend some more money of a high-quality product if you will be blending a lot.

I did a lot of research for blenders before purchasing this one because I wanted one that worked really well and was preferably glass so there was no chance of plastic chipping into the mix. This one does has durable glass, so that is nice, and it has lots of options (yet I'm not sure which to use for what).

I use it mainly for making smoothies with juice and frozen fruit, but was very unsatisfied that this blender did not blend incredibly well. It is very sensitive - you need to make sure you have plenty of liquid in there or else it won't blend. Even with a lot of liquid it will still stop blending and you have to stir it and usually add more liquid.

Although it's Black & Decker it doesn't perform great. I guess you have to spend little more than $30 to get a really good blender. It eventually works with plenty of liquid, but it's not an ideal blender in my opinion.
