I was surfing the net and came upon this item and was immediately sold on it. Since I have purchase it I have used it a few time and is quite elated.

My kitchenaid ultra-something blender died on me after 3 years of spotty usage. I bought this blender (the copper version actually) from overstock because of the good ratings it had on some other site. This blender is loud but boy, does it blend & grind! The blade is extremely sharp and this blender makes quick work of things that used to take me 15 minutes - half-an-hour to grind (like soaked rice) on the kitchenaid. The nice thing also is that the blade reaches further down and mixes up the contents pretty well. Another hugely important thing is that whereas the kitchenaid would struggle and heat up during operation and had to be rested periodically so the contents would not heat up also, this blender effectively separates the jar thermally from the base. Your food won't get cooked even as it's blended. The base hardly warmed up, however. The 500 W power is more efficiently used compared to the 600 W of the kitchenaid.
It's very simple to operate with no bells and whistles. The degree of blending/grinding is directly related to the duration so you don't have multiple buttons and lights to deal with.
One negative is that the warranty is still only a year. Wish it were longer. I just got this & hope it lasts.

I've had this blender for 3 years now and it is finally going out on me. Shouldn't a blender last more than 3 years??? The one I had before it (Oster brand) was more than 20 years old before its motor ran out. This blender works great at making mixed drinks but it is not very good at smoothies....I still get chunks of fruit in my smoothies! Plus, when I use it I smell an electrical smell which is what happened to my old blender just before the motor burned out. I noticed this morning after I used it that the seal at the bottom of the pitcher is not good anymore because I had smoothie coming out of it. It is very cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

I bought this Hamilton Beach Blender 2 months aso and it works perfectly for me.The glass jar is good quality so I stopped to worry about blending hot soups that can broke the plastic jar.I'm so happy with my purchase.

I bought this on the cheap at Macy's, like some of the other reviewers of this blending system. I wasn't about to pay the prices Magic Bullet charges. Also, if you dislike this system, go to the Magic Bullet on the Amazon site and read the reviews - many MANY bad reviews, so you may as well pay less for this one.

It looks like there aren't any perfect blending systems out there. Even my very small Cuisinart blender really sucks and that's why I bought this one. I figured, what the hell, it couldn't be any worse.

I only use mine for chopping nuts and medicinal herbs into a fine powder to use in baking and this Cocina thing works just fine for that. But I don't use it very often.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried to make good of the warranty if this product fails too quickly. The reviewers of the Magic Bullet say that company has really bad customer service.

mind you i've had the blender less than a week but i've been making "ice cream" with it and there's never any ice chunks or unpleasantries left in the jar after i finish blending it. It works fantastic really, sometimes it gets a bit jammed so i pop the little thing off the lid and add some liquid and blends it right in. The design is sleek and looks great as well. So i've used it with ice, frozen fruit, and cottage cheese to make a really thick smoothie and it was great. I've used it to blend veggies and broth for soup, not hard, but again it worked well.

You're not going to be the lucky one who gets a decent amount of use out of this thing. If you're like me, using it on an almost daily basis, it will work for a month or two. One day the blade assembly will magically disintegrate and you'll be looking at a replacement cost, with shipping, of $10 to $15. That means you could spend $100 to keep this thing running for a year, assuming nothing but the blade breaks on a regular basis. Suddenly an $80 Kitchenaide doesn't look like such a bad deal.

Dummies like me buy these things because the nice, heavy-looking glass jar gives the illusion of quality. It reminded me of the blender my parents had for years and years when I was a kid. This is not that blender. For shame, for shame, Mssrs. Black and Decker!

I took this out of the box to make malts for the teenagers at the house. The motor started smoking the first malt I made. With the 650 watts, I thought a few malts wouldn't be a problem. I guess not!

Just to add to the noise, we got this as a gift. We used it 3 times before we started smelling a "burning plastic" smell. 3 uses after that we got the blinking light of death. Manual said to leave it unplugged for 30 seconds when this happens. We did, and it went back to working. Nonetheless, avoid this item. I used to think Black and Decker meant decent quality, but this is the last of their items we ever buy.

Great for the price of good. 4 out of 5 stars.

I got this blender for everyday use and I do use it everyday. I make salsa with whole fresh tomatoes, smoothies, and my fav. piña coladas with lots of ice. It works everytime and I have never had any problem with it. It does exactly what I want it to do and I didn't have to spend a fortune.

I bought this blender at Ross for super cheap. Didn't know what to expect of it but I figured I'd try it out. This is the perfect blender for my morning smoothies! I make a smoothie every morning and have not had any trouble with locking blades or burning motors. My smoothies are always made with frozen fruit and ice cubes (and liquids too) and the blender has no problems crushing anything. I could not be happier with my find. My only problem is that I knocked the jar off the counter a few nights ago and it broke. But I am not looking at any other blenders to replace it, only this one will do for me!

This drink mixer does everything the product information claims. Great deal for the money. No need to purchase a higer priced make or model for home use. I do have one complaint. The recommended mixing cups for this item, for use as extras or replacements, won't fit this machine. Bad recommendations! Save your money and time on these items.
