Never thought we would spend this kind of money for a mixer/blender! But we did and love it!! Use it everyday for smoothies, salad dressings, frozen desserts etc etc. It is a workhorse and works as advertised. Saves a lot of time. We grate parmesan cheese and its perfect every time. Margaritas, fresh peanut butter..I could go on and on or maybe I have. Haha. Anyway, if in your budget, buy it.

I have bought over 20 of these blenders over the past 10 years or so to make salad dressing in my restaurant. They all lasted about a year under daily heavy use, which I was really happy with. Oster has now replaced the bottom screw cap of the jar with the flimsiest piece of plastic I have ever seen. I could literally break it into pieces with one hand. I broke the first one within two days. I got another blender locally just to get the bottom cap of the jar and it broke within one hour! I was in a real jam that day because we were open and there were customers flooding in the door, so I bought a third one at the local drug store and it broke too! This product is junk unless they switch back to a stronger cap. I hope they're happy with the 5 cents they save on each blender with the new parts.

Didn't have any problems with this blender, but I haven't used it much. I guess I am not too into smoothies. Very VERY loud though. Scares the crap out of me everytime I use it, but it blends everything I have put into it. Comes with some interesting recipes that might be worth trying! Good buy!

Please save your money by not purchasing this product. This blender does not work well; it does not fully blend frozen items, it has a motor burning smell while in use, and the lid is difficult to get off. Just an overall bad product.

I love the efficiency and smarts of this compact little blender at a terrific price. Since I have a food processor, all I needed was something to quick mix my liquid breakfasts. It chops ice well and just overall works like a charm. The travel lid makes it great on the go, too. The only slip up on the manufacturer's part is not making it dishwasher-friendly, but I just blend a little dish soap and warm water for a few seconds, rinse and let it air dry. I have run it thru the dishwasher once in a great while without any decreased appearance or performance.

I've had this blender for over a month now and it has made gallons and gallons of smoothies, milkshakes and fru-fru-crushed-ice-mixed-refreshments (aka 'sorority girl drinks'). I love the jar- it pours decently, especially compared to the Kitchenaid blender I've been using which cost three times as much and makes a huge mess when pouring- not to mention has little pieces that go in the lid which are constantly missing.

The base is a little faulty. There is a switch which basically you can flip between hi-off-lo. There is a button you can press to pulse the blades. My button fell apart after about a month of heavy use(girl scout troop had a 'smoothie day'). Felt that was pretty hokey, though I cannot vouch that the blender was treated kindly by the girl scout troop- knocked the star rating down for quality of workmanship there. The button still works and everything, just the cover came loose and is jiggling around in there.

I'm a little afraid of the button since I saw a movie when I was little where some woman was electrocuted by her coffee maker. I imagine myself standing in a small puddle from ice cubes I invariably drop, doing a little dance in my bathrobe as I concurrently fry and make up my morning smoothie.

Anyhow, blender still works perfectly without the pulse button so it is more aesthetic/principle of the button breaking that I'm complaining about.

Cleans up nicely and the lid fits well. My Kitchenaid blender would often leak goop down onto the blender base- not so with this blender. Serves my needs very well and I think it does a wonderful job- makes short work of ice, blends smoothies and milkshakes in mere moments- for the price point. While other brands, like Kitchenaid, mike look fancier and have more options and speeds- mostly I find that stuff to get in the way, be unnecessary or make the thing more difficult to clean.

Finally, on performance, works better than any other blender I've owned- yes, it's new but even when other blenders were new, they didn't handle ice and being filled to the top so well as this does. A good little workhorse without alot of bells and whistles- but sometimes less is more.

Great blender with chopper, no food-processor, really 5 out of 5 stars.

All the gripes people have here are legit, that this is not substitute for a food processor unless you are looking for only chopping, which was the case for me.

As everyone else agrees, the blender part is great.

The "food processor" unit is excellent too for chopping only. The jar is large enough for two big onions or three medium onions (in quarter slices) at a time. But if you want slicing, grating etc. you need to buy some rare accessories that are not available on Amazon, Ebay, or even Oster website. May be you can call them to get those ... But I didn't need them and so didn't bother to. If you really want a combo that can do the job of both a blender and food processor, buy the Hamilton Beach combo.

The idea is great. All of these pieces, 1 motor piece. Great, right?

Well the chopped attachment connects to the wand poorly. I used it once and it's already hard to connect again.

I use the immersion blender the most. It also has the largest flaw. There is a rubber gasket under the blade that traps food and water, which turns to mildew and mold. Can't clean under or around that. So my stick blender is pretty much not usable, because its not sanitary.

Nice blender with a huge flaw, the base leaks no matter how much you tighten it or align the seal. Too bad, it is a great blender otherwise.

This is an amazing kitchen tool. I have used it mainly for chopping bell peppers, onions and others veggies. Amazingly quick and easy to clean up. Love it.

I use a hand blender every day to mix protein shakes; this cordless model has only one setting and has less power than the KitchenAid corded model on the lowest setting. Still the Cuisinart seems fine for the task of mixing liquids, but I would not expect it to be any good at chopping foods. I'm a bit concerned if the battery wears down over time if it will be up to the task even when fully charged.

Also not ergonomic at all. If you have small hands BEWARE as the grip is very big. The power switch is on the very top and you must continuously hold it down (for safety, I guess.)

Of course it is handy to not have the cord.
