Good but at full price NO 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

My original intent was to buy one over a year ago. But the price was too high. Instead I bought Panasonic SD-YD250 Automatic Bread Maker because the price was right. A few months ago I found a reconditioned model (it was perfect).

Here are my findings on the X20
I like the horizontal loaf and the ability to control the cycles. I am not a big fan of the clunky pan locking mechanism. For some reason the bread is sticking to the space between the pan and the bottom of the paddle. Some people have written about the lack of light to view the bread and I think it would be a good idea to have one.

The bread making manual is written in the most frustrating style possible.

You will not be buying this to make jam it is a bread machine. All those other features that not include bread and dough simply good marketing. The sour dough option looks so good on paper but I preferred the traditional, reliable, method.

It is a good machine but not at the price though my was considerably cheaper as a re-conditioned unit.

Simply I prefer the Panasonic SD-YD250 Automatic Bread Maker but it does not have custom mode.

Editorial Review:

Not only can you bake breads of all sorts, including sourdough and whole wheat, in this machine, you can also make pizza dough, cake, jams and even meatloaf! A comprehensive recipe and instruction booklet is supported by an instructional video as well. The machine is programmable, so you can have fresh, warm bread waiting for you at breakfast or dinner time.

Fell Of the Counter and Still works 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I have had this machine for a number of years. My husband was making pizza dough on Friday night and the machine worked itself off of the counter. To my amazement we plugged it back in and even with pieces broken on it it still works. I am ordering a new one just in case this one stops working. I love this machine.

Bread Maker 4 out of 5 stars.

I have made 3 loaves of bread in this breakmaker and have been very pleased with the results. The only thing i wish were different is that the digital control pad on top is hard to see unless you have a bright light overhead.

Very easy to use. Nice to be able to control ingredients in the food we eat! My husband loves to use it.

Panasonic SD-YD250 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Years ago my husband bought me an automatic bread maker for a wedding anniversary present. At that time I had been making very good bread by hand for many years. I was skeptical and somewhat insulted. To sweeten the gift he promised to make all the bread. He has made all the bread we eat for more than 25 years. This recent purchase is his third bread maker--bread makers do not seem to last forever. The Panasonic SD-YD250 is proving to be very satisfactory. He would give it a 5 star except he wishes he could over ride the built in cycles. I Hope other people have as much good luck with their bread maker as I have had with mine.

keypad entries too complicated 1 out of 5 stars.

I found the keypad entry routine much too difficult. Not for technophobes. my old machine simply asked for "French Bake." Basic bake, whatever. Bread came out OK, nothing special.

Making bread easy! 5 out of 5 stars.

Have always been a bread maker, but using this machine is no fuss and no mess!

Are there zero stars? 1 out of 5 stars.

We replaced this once, after the kneading device stopped working. Not it won't stop. The programming seems to be broken on this and kneads the bread for far too long. Because we have had 2 of these stop working on us, I can't recommend against this enough. Avoid the pains we had and find another option!

Excellent Machine 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This is the second bread machine I've owned. I intend to use this one several times a week. So far I've made five beautiful various kinds of loaves. I only had one problem loaf and I think it was the flour I used. I really like the dual blades. They have been a bit difficult to remove from the pan, but just a little soaking has solved that. If West Bend had this same machine in a 1, 1.5, 2 pound load version, I would prefer that to this 1.5, 2, 3 pound one, as I can't imagine ever making a 3-pound load and would definitely make smaller loves. Can't comment yet on how durable it is, but I would think the dual blades will help it last longer.

    Editorial Review:

The perfect breadmaker 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This is my third breadmaker. The last two were OK, but that's all I could say for them. The breadpans always go first. Non-stick coating starts compromising after the first couple of loafs of bread, and its hard to get all the bread out of them after you're through using them. You never actually get them clean.
I'm single, and I never quite use the whole loaf before it starts going bad, so, I decided to look for a smaller breadmaker this time, and I was going to pick one with a better pan, while I was at it.
This little Zojirushi is perfect. All I can say is Wow! The pan is sturdy with a quality finish, and the rest of the breadmaker is built just as well.
The bread is more consistent in texture from the bottom of the loaf to the top, and its really quiet. Nothing not to like here.
Its a little pricey, but its worth the money.

How did we do without it? 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

We love our new bread machine ( Zojirushi mini). It is our first..... There are two of us in the house, and a small loaf every couple of days is perfect. It takes five minutes to put the ingredients in ( that will be less with practice), and out comes perfect bread. So far, the recipes that came with it have been flawless and delicious. The clean-up is easy. Hot water in the baking basket for three minutes, and the blade slips out. Easy. It takes up the space of a toaster, so no storage issues.
No more additives. Though it seemed expensive at time of purchase, it will clearly pay for itself in a year. We will never buy store bread again. Never.
Let's see..... Healthy, easy, economical......... not a tough call.

I was so excited when my husband gave me this breadmaker for Christmas last year. I had been wanting one for several months. I trusted the reviews and asked for this one based on reviews and price. I guess you get what you pay for. It worked fine for about three months then starting resetting itself. Every time I try to use it, the machine will run for three minutes and stop. It will then reset itself to the "starting" settings. According to some web research, this is a common problem. I am very disappointed. You would think, even for $50, the appliance would last longer than three months. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Over Proofed 3 out of 5 stars.

First let me say, I am a formally trained pastry chef and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. I purchased this machine to assist me in some of my doughs as I have tendonitis. The dough mode is great! The baking modes, well, they leave something to be desired.

The proofing of the dough, when you allow it to rise, is too warm and the dough over proofs which leads to the bread to fall when baking.

Bread Machine 4 out of 5 stars.

We are quite pleased with this machine. The crusts come out a little more done than we like but are happy with it.

If It Weren't Defective, It Would Have Been Great. 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I received my Breadman & was eager to bake my 1st loaf. So I carefully measured all ingredients and pushed START. It worked great through the mixing, kneading & raising processes. However, my machine had a defective heating element. I ended up baking the loaf in my oven. It was very tasty - light, even textured - the perfect loaf. I think I would have rated this machine '5 stars' if the baking cycle had worked. I sent the machine back to Amazon. They were terrific! Easy returns, very helpful - no hassles.

I have had this bread machine for one year. At first I was very excited to start using it. I have used it a lot. Every loaf of bread I have made has been over cooked. The paddle is also difficult to remove to clean the machine. I am now looking for a better machine. It may be an inexpensive machine but it is a waste of money. Spend a little more money and buy a much better machine.

False Hope 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I have never written a review on a product before but after going through this ordeal I thought I better submit my input. After hours of reading reviews I finally decided on the CBK-200. I knew all the reviews weren't great but the good outweighed the bad. I was so happy because it had everything I wanted and more. I couldn't wait to give it a try, I read the manual start to finish(highly recommend this for any bread machine). I made cinnamon roll dough first and it made the best dough! Yay, so next I tried a whole wheat loaf baked in the machine...I used my recipe which turns out great every time...except this one. The timer had 20 minutes left to bake and I could smell burning bread. I went to check on it and it was black on all four sides, the top a perfect crust. I was so disappointed and I know I set all the settings correctly. I had it on whole wheat, 2 lb loaf, medium crust. So I took it out early and then the machine gave me an error code HHH. I called customer service to see what it meant and all they said was unplug it wait 15 minutes and try again. So I did. I made the Chocolate Chip Cookie Bread recipe from the manual. I made the largest size, which is also the default size with light crust on sweet bread cycle. It rose beautifully and I was getting excited again smelling the wonderful bread baking. Towards the end I tried keeping an eye on it, with 17 minutes left it was dark brown, 5 minutes more and it would have been toast. So I saved the loaf and it did make wonderful, airy, chewy bread but I don't want to worry about burning my bread every time. I returned it and bought a new one thinking I had a dud. Nope, this one did the same thing. I even had my mother come over and make a loaf with me to prove to myself I wasn't doing anything wrong! I think the thermostat must be off in these models or I just bought 2 duds(unlikely). I really wanted this bread machine to work, it makes wonderful dough and when the bread is watched and taken out early it is good. I ended up using this about 6 times all together and concluded I should trade it for a new brand. I have done my research again and I really want a Zojirushi but unfortunately can't make myself spend that much money when there are other models with great reviews. I have decided on the West Bend 41300 (supposed to be like the Zo), it has 4.5 stars with dual paddles and almost the same features as the CBK-200 + more! West Bend bread makers have been around a while and reviewers say they last a long time...so here I go again, I really hope this one is THE ONE!!! I hope this helps.

The machine does every thing I ask it to do, and the bread tastes pretty good.

Too many glitches 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My kids gave this bread maker to me as a birthday gift and I made my first loaf of bread today. Not impressed. The machine, besides being very noisy to begin with, made a horrible noise several times throughout the process. The bread came out incredibly lopsided and with the kneading paddle completely embedded in the loaf. I couldn't even see it! I had to cut an enormous hole out of the bread to get the paddle out. Not attractive.

The bread itself had no flavor whatsoever, and I followed the recipe for white bread exactly. It didn't call for salt, which I thought was odd, but I followed the recipe and wished I'd tweaked it before I turned the machine on. It definitely could have used a little something.

The bread pan is extremely difficult to remove and it isn't too easy to place in the machine, either.

I thought I might try another loaf, but after reading other reviews here where they say the paddle was stuck in the loaf, it's going back to the store. I'm not about to fish a metal paddle out my bread every time I bake a loaf.

Kids, this is why you don't buy your mom an appliance! :)
