Not for cooks in elevations over 2000 Ft 2 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Bought this last year and tried about 5-6 recipes several times, at different loaf sizes, using recipes that came with the machine as well as out of reliable cookbooks. No luck. Every loaf collapsed and baked into a dense, inedible mound of dryness. Tried to return it, but had passed the Amazon return time. Cuisinart was not particularly helpful--made us return and try another machine twice even though I explained that I thought the issue had to do with the rise times programmed as part of the equipment, not the product itself. Fortunately, since we live in California, the shipping back and forth costs were paid by the company (CA law). Finally, after the third return, they gave us credit, which we ended up using on a different product. That nonsense took a year and many phone calls to negotiate! As a longtime Cuisinart customer, I found their customer service lacking in quality. Since then, I have started baking by hand, using a wet dough recipe from the PBS show America's Test Kitchen. Also considering trying the cookbook, _Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day_--as making bread is relatively easy--but the timing is the hard part--while adapting some "high elevation" tweaking to the recipes (didn't grow up baking at high elevations so that has been a learning curve). The low star rating is for the issues we faced with Cuisinart in returning the product, which does not adapt to high elevation climates. I wish Cuisinart would address this issue by building better time options into the machine design.

Best bread ever ! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Have used the breadmaker several times and each loaf has been flawless. It is nice to have the option of different size loafs. The directions are incredibly easy to follow and the panel on the machine is foolproof. Would definitely buy the same machine again if I had to.

Too loud to have fresh bread in the morning. 2 out of 5 stars.

This is a good machine but you cannot run it overnight. Expodentially louder than our other machine.

Very nice breadmaker! 5 out of 5 stars.

My husband hates bread.
I love to bake bread.
One day a year ago he came into my kitchen as I was pulling a loaf out of the oven and devoured it.
So now he will ONLY eat bread I make. Well I am a busy mom and a sole income earner, plus bred making is hard work. I got tired of hearing him beg for bread so I did a bunch of research on machines and I was a bit nervous about buying a bread man due to many negative reviews on other models and such, but the convince of the auto mix in chamber lured me in. boy am I glad it did! Got the darn thing a week ago and I have put it though its paces! My friends who came over for dinner were out of their mind due to the fact I had made my famed home made pizza AND my garlic rolls, something I have never made at the same time for them even thought they are the two faves. I do not balk at baking the bread for my husband anymore, growing weary at the though of the work.

The machine it so SIMPLE to use. Dump and go. I have tried nearly all of the recipes in the book, I have found that nearly all of them are a little sweet for my tastes, but I hate sweet bread. With host of online resources it has not been a problem.

if you have a problem, unplug the machine and sit down and READ the manual. Heck I have read the thing a dozen times and I still keep it out to refer to.

Difference between this and BBCCX20 3 out of 5 stars.
39 of 41 people found this review helpful.

Do not be deceived like I was into thinking this model would be the new and improved model by Zo. I called Zo to find out the difference between this model and the BBCCX20 and they said the only difference is the outside color.

No Improvements, just a change in the outside color and a cost of $45 more.

Truly disappointing considering the small changes that could have been made to the other model to have really improved it.

Rust spot after a few years 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The hot water start tasting like metallic one day. We open it up an there are a few rust spots. I'm quite disappoint with this Made In Japan product that I paid over $100 for it. I'm now a new owner of Chinese brand hot water pot that has stainless steel interior. I hope it last longer than this one.

Another great Zojirushi Product. Well worth every dollar spent 5 out of 5 stars.

Zojirushi CD-LCC30 Micom 3.0-Liter Electric Dispensing Pot I have several Zojirushi Water Pots. But this one is my favorite.
I received it as a Gift from my Aunt who loves Zojirushi Products. Between her house and ours we buy alot of Zojirushi Items and none of them have ever disappointed us... They are of very high Quality and as far as anything else: they last along long time... Buy this Water Pot and you wont be disappointed... Ours stays on during the day and its great because the Water is always hot and ready for a Cup of Tea.

fast and fun 5 out of 5 stars.

Faster then my gas range top for the same volume of water plus the ability to hold at various temps all-day-long and to add more water as needed is great. Wonderful for filling my French Press or for making cups of tea. Loved my Zojirushi rice maker so much I had to give this product a try and I haven't regretted it.

So far I love this machine! 4 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

We have owned five bread machines over the past twenty years or so. One ChefMate (which was by far the best), three Breadman, and now this one from West Bend. Though the Breadman machines were pretty good, none of them stacked up to the ChefMate. It's the one I compare all others to.

We've only had one machine motor die (that was our original one after seven years of usage). Mostly the problems have been with the bread pan gaskets breaking down. Replacing the stem piece and pans often costs as much as buying a new machine, not only in the cost of the parts, but with postal rates as they are.

When our most recent machine died I was not looking forward to shopping for another one. I'm known for researching things to death, but these days no amount of research really prepares you for how something is going to work.

During the Christmas season this West Bend became available at a local store for $59. Though I've never been a fan of the oblong pan (I prefer the upright), we figured that we couldn't go too terribly wrong at that price. If nothing else this machine would get us through until we could find one we liked better.

I've never been under the illusion that ingredients can be put into a machine, turned on, and left to their own devices. Every machine needs a little supervision, and the ingredients need to be tweaked. Compare that small issue with making bread completely by hand and it doesn't seem like such a big deal. Do a little tweaking, a couple of hours later - fresh bread.

So far this machine is excellent (and right up there with the ChefMate). It has one powerful motor, and it mixes, kneads, and raises dough to perfection. I've made several loaves of bread in it, and several batches of dough for other things (including bread I let raise in a pan in the oven).

My only complaint about it so far is the beeper. It's extremely loud, and when the machine is finished it sounds like a smoke detector going off. A minor annoyance for what appears to be a good machine, at least so far.

I actually like that the paddle rests higher up on the stem. It comes out in the bread (sometimes the others did too), but at least it doesn't get stuck on the stem and have to be soaked off (which can ruin the gasket over time).

I hope to get a lot of use out of this bread machine.

Good pan 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I bought this as a spare pan so I could have one pan in the machine and one pan ready for the next loaf when the first one was done. I'm very happy with both the pan and the machine. The pan cleans quickly and easily, and the bread releases without difficulty. Well worth the money.

Warning if purchase 4 out of 5 stars.

This is an excellent bread machine, I have been very happy with machine....however I had to order a replacement pan due to metal exposure and scraping that happened in blade areas. If you purchase this machine DO NOT wash or fill pan with hot water immediately after removing bread....it causes protective pan liner to flake off. I now wait until pan cools before I soak it in hot water to clean.

great bread maker; highly recommended 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

After agonizing over which bread machine to buy, I chose this one. The first two loaves I made turned out like bricks, but then I realized that my flour might be old, and when I used fresh flour, everything turned out beautifully. I've had it now for about 8 months, and I love it. I make all of my own bread and I don't have to worry about all the unpronounceable ingredients in store-bought bread. The only trade-off is that the bread goes stale pretty quickly because it lacks preservatives.

This machine is easy to use, has two paddles, and a variety of options. It also can make a three-pound loaf, and it's my understanding that there aren't many bread machines on the market (if any) with this capacity. I've used a lot of the recipes that were included with the product, and I've liked nearly all of them. I haven't tried the baguette function yet, but it's on my to-do list.

A few negatives, however: 1) it's a bit large; 2) it only comes in white; 3) there is no way to know when the kneading cycle is about to be over (the moment when you add additional ingredients if necessary)--it just beeps. I have to hang around near the kitchen to listen for it, or I'll miss it. 4) When the paddles are removed, it leaves two gaping holes in the bread. But I believe this is an issue with all bread machines and is unavoidable.

Last weekend, my kitchen was filled with the smell of homemade bread baking and a pot roast in the slow cooker. What better way to usher in the cooler weather?

Poor Customer Service 1 out of 5 stars.
5 of 6 people found this review helpful.

I purchased this breadmaker for my sister. There was a problem with it so she called the Breadman company. They told her to cut of the power cord and send it to them and she will receive a new machine. She got a used discontinued model that was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. She's been calling the company since January and they have yet to send her a replacement. AVOID THE HEADACHE...DO NOT BUY A BREADMAN!!!

Great breadmaker 5 out of 5 stars.

Love it! Makes great bread everytime. Have had it for 8 months now and use it probably two, three times a week. Easy to clean, looks great on your counter (although I put mine away in the cabinet when I'm not using it). Buy it and begin to dazzle your friends and family with fresh, wholesome bread! GET IT!!!
