Best coffee I've ever had. Definately worth the money. It's a big appliance though and takes up quite a bit of counter space, have to say, it's a commitment! My only complaint is that the coffee doesnt seem to be hot enough. I'm still tweaking though. It may be me. Morning coffee is a beautiful thing now!

After having this same coffee maker for 2 years we decided to re-buy as we did like the look. The previous one began to randomly brew only 4-6 cups of the 12 which we would have to restart to continue to brew. It also began to leak water all over the counter. The clock had quit after only about 1 year. The coffee is VERY slow to brew but the flavor was o.k.

Big mistake to re-buy!!The second time we bought the coffee pot just made a loud pop and the entire 12 cups of water leaked all over after only 5 months.

WARNING!!! Stay away from this coffeemaker. I wish we had learned the first time.

Worked fine for 5 months, now the clock and the lights work but won't brew coffee. This is the 3rd Mr. Coffee coffeemaker that has died in less than a year. Never again. Ever.

This coffee maker is functional and worked well for me for 3-years. I drink a lot of coffee so it probably averaged 2 pots per day for the period. This is my third Bunn and the others all lasted longer. It started leaking clear hot water when we brewed a pot so we replaced it with a traditional Bunn. I agree with the reviews that say the coffee tend to be weak- I like it that way. It is quick, and if I'm waiting for a new pot of coffee I appreciate that a lot.

My first Bunn lasted for over 17 years. We purchased this new one and the best feature is the lid over the water reservoir slides. If it is open no water flows into the filter unit and pot. This unit is ideal for storing under the wall cabinets. It doesn't take up much space either. And always, Bunn is top quality. Don't waste your money on seconds every six months. Get the Bunn.

I have used my old coffee maker for over ten years. It still works and makes great coffee, but the handle on the carafe somehow slipped to the side. With the handle out of place, it is difficult to pour coffee into a cup, but I still like my coffee maker. Of course I could have replaced the carafe, but My son decided I needed a new Mr Coffee and wished to get me one as a present.

So what to get? Over the years the choices have really expanded. I don't like programmable models. The coffee grounds that sit overnight become stale while waiting for the alarm to start brewing. I like my coffee fresh.

My son found this Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Switch model which exceeds all my requirements. I started using this coffee maker and it is really good. It is easy to keep clean, which is important for making great coffee. It has a "Pause and Serve" that allows a person to take a first cup, without any spillage, while it is still brewing. It also comes with a one year warranty (but if it is anything like my last one it will last many years).

I highly recommend this Mr. Coffee.

This is a beautiful machine! I started learning about brewing espresso at home with a Gaggia Coffee. I've since stepped up to the Silvia and I wish I had bought it right away. The espresso I produce with it is far superior, never sour or bitter if I use the right amount and tamp it properly, and I can make microfoam. I also appreciate its heaviness, good looks, quiet operation and metal steam wand.

Many say - and it bears repeating - that you will only get the results you are looking for at home if you invest in a burr grinder of at least Rancilio Rocky or Gaggia MDF quality, grind right before brewing and use beans roasted within weeks, not months! I have had disappointing results with other grinders and all preground espresso including expensive Illy, etc.

Shop around and be sure to get free shipping, because this thing weighs a ton. I have seen good package deals where you can get the Silvia and Rocky together; with no tax and free shipping plus some free goodies such as a stainless steel tamper, you will be in business and might have some cash left over for the beans. Of course the instruction booklet is nearly worthless, but you can find some great videos on YouTube to show you what to do with all that stuff once you get it home.

If you have better things to spend your money on, like mortgage and groceries, or if you aren't too picky, look elsewhere; maybe try a stovetop moka pot. If you think you will be making espresso for years to come get this machine, a good grinder and a water filter, and some freshly roasted beans from Intelligentsia; then you will want a collection of little cups for serving your creations, and your friends might begin to think you are an insufferable coffee snob... and at that point, you will be. Trust me, your buddies most likely do not want to hear about your machine's brass portafilter and temperature stability.

This is NOT a cheap hobby. Maybe you should consider supporting your local coffee shop instead! As for me, I'm in too deep. Let me know if someone starts a twelve step program for espresso addicts. Enjoy!

When my last Mr. Coffee died (I've had at least 3) I thought I'd try something different. Reviewing prices the B&D seemed fair. It makes the coffee as quickly, if not faster than Mr. C. After using it for a month I haven't had the problem of the filter paper folding over so that grounds get in the carafe which would happen occasionally with Mr. C. The coffee tastes fine. The insulated carafe does keep the coffee warm but after an hour it isn't as warm as I was used to. On the positive side it also doesn't make the hour old coffee bitter. I like that I don't have to worry about breaking the carafe while I'm rinsing it out (I've done that once with Mr. C)

I got this espresso maker today. I made my first cup of coffee with it almost immediately. It was as good as Starbuck's espresso, and I am pleased with it. There is only one small drawback, but it is not unique to this product: it does not cover a small burner on the stove and has to be set on the burner so the handle doesn't sit over the hot part. This is a minor fault. What is nice about this pot is that it has 'aesthetic appeal'. It's a pretty little pot, and it works well, so I'll be using it a lot.

Please save yourself the headache and avoid purchasing anything from Kismet. We ordered the Capresso coffee maker (170.00) and were unhappy with the product. We have been calling everyday for the last 15 days to speak with a representative to either replace or return the device. Not certain if the maker of Capresso product is aware of this or if they are one in the same with Kismet. Regardless, I will avoid both for now.

To achieve a spectacular cup of coffee there are essential steps that need to be taken. The water must be free of chlorine taste (hence the charcoal filter), the machine must be able to brew larger or smaller amounts successfully (this one "knows" to disperse hot water more slowly when the coffee ground amount is less). The coffee must be very hot (right around 192 Degrees F, like the brew from the MT500), and kept fresh, as in a double walled stainless steel carafe with a one way valve that keeps flavor and aroma in the coffee. Now it doesn't hurt if the machine itself is gorgeous either, or that it can output 10 cups of coffee in 8 minutes. Oh and one more thing: this is the only coffee maker in its class that has a stainless steel boiler so your coffee doesn't ever come in contact with aluminum. Normally this type of construction, and a 1200 watt heating element are found only on commercial grade appliances.

This little compact, portable product was easy to use, quick and very easy to clean. It whips up a batch of froth from skim milk in no time at all. The only thing I did not like about it was the battery compartment was very hard to close.
Overall a very good product at an inexpensive price.

The unit makes great froth BUT it takes four batteries and it is heavy and difficut to reassemble once the batteries are installed. It is also very difficut to push down and maintain the pressure on the frothing mechanism. I do not reccommend this product if you have arthritis in your hands or fingers.
