The thing I like the most about this coffee maker is that it is so clean. I should explain that I had to get rid of my last coffee maker because it got infested with ants - little caffiene crazy monsters that built a whole ant society in the bottom of the machine. Hopefully they will leave Zutto alone because there is no danger of coffee overflowing the filter basket and getting into the water tank and generally making a mess everytime I brew. Zutto's design has the coffee filter basket separate from the machine; it sits in the top of the oversized glass carafe. This means nothing is going through the machine itself except water. And the separate basket makes it especially easy to dump the grounds and rinse it out every time you brew.
Additionally Zutto seems to be well made; it's plastic but it's not cheap plastic. And it makes good coffee, hotter than my last couple of machines, and has a built in water filter.
The filter basket and its lid do just sit in the top of the carafe, and the instructions recommend more than once that you keep your thumb on the tab at the top of the handle so that it doesn't all fall out when you pour. This has not been a problem for me, though some people might not like that.
My only complaint has to do with the labeling of the number of cups. We are all used to the riddiculously small measure of 5 ounces that seems to be the standard size used on American coffee pots. Due to some crazy mixup with the metric system, Zutto's cups are only about 4 ounces. You need to make 3 cups to fill up a mug, and the machine should be compared to others that claim to be 4 cups, not 5. However, Zutto does come with an appropriately sized down scoop that will keep your coffee strength at the level recommended by your local barrista.

I was hesitant, but decided to purchase this as it seemed to meet my needs. I have found nothing wrong and I use it 4 times a week. Timer works, easy to remove and put back on, and grounds are consistent. Throw out your doubts and give this a try. The cord is long enough too, but you may not have it all out if you find it too short. Like the way it recoils back into the base.

It takes just seconds to takes coffee beans from whole to practically dust. I had a little difficulty figuring out how the lid fits on to allow it to run but being a man the last thing you do is read the directions. Buy grinding the coffee finer then you get from a store, you can bring out the flavor much better.

I bought this little grinder because I didnt want to spend a ton of money on a burr grinder for my French Press coffee. I read other reviews and most seemed pleased with it. I would agree. It grinds fresh beans course like a burr grinder, and does it quickly. Lots of power for such a small grinder. Haven't used the other settings since I don't brew coffee. I read some bad comments about the cord being too short, and I'm wondering why you would need a cord any longer than the one provided. It's just fine. Frustration Saver Alert: This grinder will not turn on unless the clear plastic cover is fully set and locked (twisted) in place. The directions don't really tell you that. Enjoy your new grinder!

Bought this when my tired Mr. Coffee finally gave up the ghost. Have had this about four months now.
I've got limited kitchen space and love the compact size of this coffee maker and the metal carafe.
No more being 'delicate' with those glass carafes we've all learned to hate.
Makes good coffee good and hot, and I like the auto-brew, auto shut-off, etc. It also takes standard coffee filters.

Only downside to this maker is that the carafe is to thin on the bottom.
After about 15 minutes, your brewed coffee will start to burn.

I bought this item after my old battery-operated Aerolatte gave up the ghost, primarily because it's rechargeable. I expected the BonJour to be more or less the same. But I am absolutely delighted with the amount of foam it provides! It's like the superhero of frothers!

This frother does not create foam. I like the idea of having a precharged, ready to go frother, but this one does not do the trick. It barely turns after being charged, or sitting in the charger. I was using the cheap Ikea battery operated frothers for years and I am going back to them, they have so much more power, and actually create foam. This frother does not create foam. I read another review similar to mine, and wished that I had purchased their battery operated one, which had a better review.

I purchased this coffeemaker from Amazon to replace the same model I have had and loved for years. I had broken the old carafe and tried to purchase a replacement, but it was more expensive than buying a whole new coffeemaker (especially since there was $10 rebate). I ordered the new one from Amazon which had the lowest price, but was disappointed when the carafe leaked all over the place when I poured coffee. I called Amazon customer service which was great about immediately sending me an entirely new product, which works fine. Since I had 30 days to return the original, I was able to try the new one to make sure the new carafe was not defective. I was very pleased with Amazon's service and I am happy with my coffee maker again. (Please note that if you want a bright clock display, you will not get it on this product. The display is small and dim, but a minor detail since it makes a large pot of coffee and the "beep" when done brewing is a nice feature to let you know it's ready if you step away for a while.)

I have used this machine to make espresso every day for about two weeks, now. I have had none of the complaints I've read about from the low-star reviews. The espresso is easy to make and is ready to drink in under 3-minutes, once you've turned-on the machine. I have no issues with "blowing-up" or excess steam. I only pour in the amount of water I need to do the job. Follow the written instructions and you'll be very happy with this machine. I haven't yet used the milk foamer/steamer, but look forward to trying it out.

I read all the reviews on this little guy. I went for it , and Im not disappointed. The coffee brews up nice and hot, but the second cup is not as hot but perfect for drinking. I timed it for my 3rd cup and 2 hours later, the coffee was still hot. Not hot- hot but just right. The lid is a little getting use to, but no problem. I set the timer last night, and this morning I had hot coffee. I machine shuts off immediately after it finishs brewing. Nice coffee maker--4 ****'s- I recommend getting the gold filter basket. Its a perfect mate.

I tried for a month to like this coffee maker, pre-heating the pot, etc. But the brutal truth is that the water just isn't as hot as it should be from the start. The cup you pour right after brewing is just barely hot enough, and it's downhill from there.

Then, just as I was getting ready to give up anyway, the carafe started leaking at the seam between the stainless part and the plastic upper part that supports the handle and lid. I investigated and discovered a piece of really poor engineering, where a sharp rim of the stainless is forced against a very thin soft gasket in a way pretty much guaranteed to cut through it, after which you get little leaks that create stains on the side of the pot and, on especially good days, manage to dump enough of your freshly-brewing coffee on the counter to make a real mess.

Forget it. This is a piece of junk. (Sad too, since some other Mr. Coffee makers have been favorites of mine.)

When we broke the carafe of our old Braun coffee maker, we looked up all reviews, including Consumer Reports to find a new one. What we never liked about the Braun was the way it dripped when we poured. We love our decaf in the morning. We bought the Michael Graves and found it made DELICIOUS coffee and poured perfectly, but then we agreed that it was extremely slow. So we returned it. We then tried two others that got great reviews: the Mr. Coffee Programmable with Thermal Carafe and the Cuisinart Brew Central. Both made coffee hot and fast--but VERY WEAK, no matter how much coffee we added. Mr. Coffee's thermal decanter was darn heavy to lift when full. Cuisinart was the highest rated in Consumer Reports and was the last we tried. Okay, my husband liked that it "dinged" when the coffee was ready, but it was still WEAK. We went back to Michael Graves and LOVE it. Now it seems to make perfect sense: if it drips SLOWLY, it gives the water a chance to soak up the flavor of the grinds. As far as the other drawback: not being able to put the carafe in the dishwasher...it's true, but it's a small price to pay for a GREAT cup of coffee. I say five stars for this, and I hope it holds up. After our own "brew and taste" tests, slow but steady wins the race for a GREAT cup of coffee. Have a little patience. Good things come to those who wait...and you can pre-program it if you get up that early!
