cuisinart 600 ~ A waster of money, consumer of time 1 out of 5 stars.

You want to spend HOURS disassembling and cleaning this machine! BUY IT!

Want simplicity, and frustration free coffee making???

But a separate bean grinder, and a PLUNGER (French Press).

The coffee will be better, more enjoyable, and all you do is wash out the plunger.

This Cuisinart machine ~ i wouldn't even give to a charity shop - SAlvation Army!!!!! It is in the garbage bin!

good coffee it stays hot for a long time...but is loud & messy 3 out of 5 stars.

I have had this for over a year with no problems. The cofee is good. But it does have an annoyingly loud sound while grinding. No one could sleep through it It could take the place of your alarm clock! It brews quickly! It is a bit of work to clean all the parts out! But if you want a programmable grind & brew machice I would recommend!

Editorial Review:

With its sleek Italian styling, brushed stainless finish and "loaded" feature package, you'd expect nothing less than a fabulous cup of coffee. And you won't be disappointed! From filtering the water, to grinding the beans, to keeping your brew hot, not to mention having it ready and waiting for you first thing in the morning, this handsome machine does it all, and then some.

Purchase in haste, regret in leisure 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I bought this coffee maker in 2008, after seeing one at a friend's house and loving the look and function. What I didn't do (and should have known better) was to read reviews of the darn thing before I bought it.

In the beginning, I really loved this machine. It made tasty coffee and looked lovely on my counter. Sure, there were a few things that bugged me, like how I couldn't put my travel mug under the dispenser (even removing the tray underneath wasn't enough; I had to dispense into a coffee cup and transfer it, ugh) and how hard it was to clean the coffee reservoir. The fact that there was no fill pitcher didn't bother me because the machine sat near the sink, which has a flexible hose. I would just put the end of the faucet in the water reservoir and fill away.

The thing that bothered me the most, however, was the lack of coffee smell. Yep, because the coffee is completely contained and not really exposed to air before dispensing, there's no familiar smell of coffee.

But I was willing to look past its shortcomings. Until it died. Almost 2 years to the day of purchasing it, the machine died. It had been squirrelly a few times before, not brewing, just sitting there with the lights on but no activity. I would turn it off, then turn it back on and it would be fine. But then, about two weeks ago, it just stopped. The light would come on, but no coffee, no action, no love.

One thing I demand in my appliances is that they actually work. Two years isn't enough for a $90 coffee pot. Poorly done, Cuisinart. I just bought the Mr. Coffee with the thermal carafe. I hope I get better results with it!

Editorial Review:

Cuisinart introduces coffee without the carafe! The Coffee on demand coffeemaker has a simple "press to serve" lever that delivers up to 12 cups of hot coffee, cup by cup, from a double wall reservoir. Our exclusive Coffee gauge on the front of the unit counts down the cups remaining. With 24-hour programmability, auto shutoff, professional brushed stainless steel housing, and clean, contemporary styling, this is one of the easiest-and almost elegant- coffeemakers on the market.

Drippy 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This coffee maker brews a fine cup but is extremely frustrating to use. The carafe dips when pouring and half the water (when filling the maker) or coffee end up missing the target. I really don't have time for this sort of annoyance first thing in the morning.

How hard is it to design a carafe that actually pour properly?

good little coffee maker 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I have had this coffee maker for a couple of years. It works great except the pot leaks where the plastic meets the stainless steel and drips on the counter when I pour. This started when I first purchased it. Other than that it is a good coffee pot and suits my needs.

Disappointing product 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I bought this product two years ago; at first I was satisfied with its performance, but during the past year I have encountered the same problem other reviewers have mentioned: when pouring the coffee after brewing, steady leakage occurs from the carafe. This causes a puddle of coffee on the countertop (and less coffee in your cup). It's now so bad that I have to pour the coffee into the cup over my sink, to catch the leakage. This is very disappointing, considering Cuisinart's reputation. I love my Cuisinart food processor (I've had the same model for almost twenty years), but cannot recommend this coffeemaker, which I am replacing ASAP.

Good simple, small maker 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This can make excellent coffee with the few caveats mentioned in some of the other reviews. In particular, its water heater isn't quite fast enough in heating water to the proper temperature (200F). Basically, the first water out is cooler than it should be, but then it warms up as the maker progresses. It works fine when starting out with room temperature/warm water. This is no Technivorm, but its a lot cheaper and smaller.

Water is dispersed in a 5 point pattern -- the 4 corners of a square plus the center. In general, grounds are pretty well saturated if you don't put too much in (not an issue). Roughly, the upper limit works out to 5-6 scoops of beans (the provided scoop holds about 14grams of beans). Beyond this amount, the grounds are likely to bloom and hit the filter cover as well as not get saturated evenly. If looking for a gold tone filter, the Cuisinart GTF-4 works fine. The Krups 052 filter will NOT fit. The Krups filter is too large and will not allow the plastic top to fit onto the filter holder.

Okay office coffee maker 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

There are some definite pros and cons for this coffee maker, hence the in-between review.

Pros:
At a glance, its cute.
The coffee is hot.
The coffee tastes pretty decent.

Cons:
You can't remove the carafe before the coffee is done.
The carafe spills a *lot* when pouring the coffee into my mug.
The coffee burns easily if you don't shut the device off after brewing.
It's fairly cheaply made, so I don't know how long it will last (used fairly regularly for 4 months so far).

I still use it... but probably will invest in something with auto shut off and being able to remove the carafe during brewing next time.

Editorial Review:

There's nothing like a cup of fresh, flavorful coffee to start your fast paced morning. 5 cup coffeemaker brews great-tasting coffee quickly and hassle-free with an easy-fill water reservoir and the hot plate and thermal carafe keeps it warm. Has a programmable brew time to have it ready exactly when you need it. An active lifestyle like yours can't have delays with your coffee. Soft digital touch pad and convenient automatic shut off leaves your mind worry free of important things like forgetting to turn your coffeemaker off. Cord storage leaves more space and less mess on your counter. Water indicator clearly visible for anyone to see. Sleek design looks good on any countertop. Perfectly small, convenient, and easy to use coffeemaker.

Nice design, good coffee maker wish it came with the filtration system and filter basket 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I like the coffee maker, I do wish it came with the filtration system and the permanent filter.
I did pay about $8 more for it on amazon, than the other retail stores were selling it for,
I wonder if amazon will price match it. The product itself, is programmable and the feature
seems nice. I did get an 8 cup so I am looking for the permanent filter that matches it vs.
the 10-12 cup suggested. I did see a generic one for $4.99 at another site I am considering.
Overall, I think I am happy with it. Will write again after further use to discuss it more.
The instruction do clearly tell you to warm the crafe with hot water and empty the hot water
before use, that is probably what people are forgetting.

better than my expectation 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The brewing is quick and the warming plate function is good, hot enough for me. Only one thing is that when you want to put more water to brew, when you life the 'one-piece cover' on the top, the vapor/water of last brew will fall to the back along the machine body and to cord, so I always wipe after doing that, in case the water into the cord storage. Anyway it's good go use.

Simple and easy, but a little slow 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

It was just what I looked for: a simple and easy to use coffeemaker for a reasonable price. It is well made and the only negative note is the time it takes to make the coffee, a little longer than others.

Very Poor Product 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Soon after purchase coffee began leaking all over the counter top. The coffee comes through the little hole in the filter holder but runs down the activator onto the top of the pot and out onto the counter. You must watch this piece of junk constantly. Also does not keep the coffee hot after you finally get it brewed.
And I thought Black and Decker made good products! Ha

not good! 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I have had this coffee maker for 3 years. It have problem some time, like brew cold coffee, not working and don't drip coffee from filter. I am about to say bye to it.

Cuisinart's step backward 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I have used a Cuisinart TTG-500 Two-to-Go for years. I was so pleased with it's performance I bought a new one as a replacement. However, the new replacement now has a different type of on-off switch that is difficult to turn on. Once it is turned on it can not be tured off with the on-off switch before it goes through it's entire cycel and turns itself off. Even unplugging the machine will not reset the switch to the off position. When the machine is plugged in again it will be on, not off, even if it is days later, probably weeks or even years.

Also my older model could be re-loaded and more coffee made immediately after it automatically shuts off. The new machine can only be used again after it has cooled for a long period of time. There is no way to get the machine to turn on until this cooling off period time has elapsed. And that time is not known. From my experience it may be several hours.

Other than these inconvenient irritants the new version makes an excellent cup of coffe just like the original.

Editorial Review:

How ingenious is this? No need to take the time to pour coffee into your travel mug anymore, this machine brews right into one or two stainless steel mugs. Brew, grab, and go. It even turns itself off after brewing is complete.

LOVE THIS COFFEE MAKER!!!!!!!! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

After much searching on the internet, reading reviews of various coffee makers, I decided to purchase the Michael Graves Design coffee maker. As soon as I got it out of the box, I just knew that i was going to LOVE it, and I DO!!!!!! The removable water reservoir is awesome~so easy to fill and replace onto the coffee maker. No more pulling the coffee maker across the counter so that I can use the spray nozzle to fill it! The long pour spout makes for a no-spill, smooth pour every time. The clock and programmed start are simple and easy to set. Brewing time is longer than I am used to (about 10 minutes), but i am convinced that it is resulting in a better cup of coffee (more time for water to steep through the ground coffee). The coffee is hot and strong, just the way I like it! To top it all off, the design of the coffee maker is really fun and funky~looks great in my kitchen:)

Pretty but beware that finicky filter basket! 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This looks elegant on my kitchen counter, and I really like the readable clock display. However, I would not recommend it because the filter basket must be seated EXACTLY RIGHT -- or you wind up with a nasty-overflowing-wet-coffee-grounds-disaster. In my experience with every other coffee maker, you just drop in the filter basket and proceed. With this model, the basket MUST be inserted to line up with a little notch, so that it drops into position. If you just drop it in, the drip process backs up and overflows the filter. Big mess! This is a design flaw you wouldn't find on a $15 model from the drug store.
