Hamilton Beach HDC200B 1cup Brewer w/50 included Coffee Pods

I used this item at Marriott hotels and loved it. So I bought one for myself and my son. It makes a wonderful cup of copy and it only takes 3 minutes. It is by far the best one cup coffee maker I have used.

This machine makes a mess when brewing! I use a Bunn My Cafe at home and love it. I was looking for a smaller machine to use at work. The size is perfect but beware of coffee spilling out of the pod tray while brewing. It is hot and makes a mess. I am returning mine and looking for another brand.

I used one when staying at the Hyatt ...and was pleasantly surprised..tasted wonderful.. and I had no problem with the water spilling over. I tried going on to the Hamilton Beach website to purchase it, but to know avail...so I guess surfing the web DOES pay off !! I am getting ready to order now!

Again, i read the reviews prior to purchasing and found many people going for the "High End" coffee makers and ended up not being satisfied. My wife wanted a programmable for the odd times she may have to get up in the morning so coffee would already be brewed and waiting. This maker also comes in a non programmable model but you don't have to use the programming feature and can bypass it as i often do. It brews a great cup of coffee, the 12 cup pot is enough for us to enjoy a morning cup and fill our to go mugs. It brews the coffee hot and keeps it hot. The only thing to be aware of is that it has an automatic 2 hour shut off for safety - a good thing for those of us who forget to turn the coffee maker off - but can be annoying on days you are home and may want a hot cup later on. All you have to do is push the button on the right again and it will rewarm. I love this coffee maker and would recommend trying this one before much more expensive models unless you just like spending money.

Special-fit carafe MUST sit in place to disengage the "brew stop" feature,
or you will be lapping up your coffee as it overflows on the counter.

PAPER THIN carafe (I have no idea how it made it from, lemme guess, China?)
without breaking. Small tap on the water faucet: time for a new carafe.

DO NOT buy a "compatible" carafe, even if you can find it. If it doesn't
fit EXACTLY as the original, you get to lap up the coffee from the
counter.

I would recommend this to Bernie Madoff and would require he hold it in
his lap while making coffee with an ill-fitting replacement cafe while
in his underwear. Other than that, stay away.

Used it five days a week for only a couple of months. The lip on the upper handle that goes over the glass carafe broke. Luckily the bottom of the handle was strapped to the lower part of the carafe or I would have probably burned myself. I went to big box store where I bought it to get new carafe. None available. These big corporations constantly change the styles and models so you have to buy a whole new set.

This is great for the single cup coffee drinker household. I can brew one large cup whenever the mood strikes and I don't have to worry about being wasteful by brewing a whole pot. I had considered buying a small 5 cup coffee pot but was thrilled when I found this. It's perfect...Doesn't take up a bunch of counter space, coffee is fresh, hot and brews directly into the cup. (Which means no extra mugs to wash.) Plus it has a reusable filter! If you drink only one or two cups a day, then this is a great product!

Liked the coffeemaker a lot until on the sixth day instead of
hearing the coffee dripping it started to hum and smoke was streaming out of it. I unplugged it and once it cooled down checked to see if it still worked and it didn't. The motor must of burned out. Unfortunately I had just discarded the packaging so I couldn't return it. I considered it a lesson learned...you get what you pay for!

I never write reviews but feel the need to warn others not to waste their money on this product. I was able to brew about ten cups of coffee before it broke this morning. You might be asking "What did you expect for $18?" I expected a coffee maker that made coffee. It wasn't quiet to begin with but I don't have to worry about that anymore since it is in the garbage can. Black & Decker used to be a respected name, what happened? DO NOT BUY! From other reviews I see that it isn't even worth trying to return it.

Purchased in January 2005. Still works great. Used every day. The thermal carafe keeps coffee hot for long periods and I never have to worry about my husband turning the coffee maker off after I leave the house each morning. I am now researching a birthday gift for a family member and likely will purchase the same machine.

I have both this model, which I got for my office, and the equivalent model with the glass caraffe, which I use at home. I love the one I have at home with the glass caraffe, the coffee is piping hot and tastes excellent. I set it on a timer in the evening and wake up to freshly brewed coffee in the morning.

Since I don't like coffee which has been stewing on the hot plate for more than 10-20 mins at the most, I bought the one with the thermal caraffe for the office, reasoning that I could have hot coffee throughout the day.

Unfortunately it has been quite a disappointment. For some reason, the coffee does not taste as good as it does at home, even when we use the same high end Starbucks freshly ground coffee powder. We have tried various sources of water, but it just doesn't taste good. We cleaned the caraffe with everything from urea to acetic acid (we found that sodium hydroxide, or lye, worked best, resulting in a sparkling clean caraffe). The taste improved but not as good as the one with the glass caraffe.

Now, whether it tastes good or not is a personal opinion. More importantly, however, is the fact that the coffee is not hot! Even using a pre-heated caraffe and drinking the coffee immediately after brewing, it is only marginally hot enough to drink. And it gets cold almost immediately. As there is no way of closing the caraffe completely, heat escapes as fast as from a regular caraffe. The caraffe seems to have to thermal insulation.

Don't get this coffee maker; instead get the regular model with the glass caraffe and buy a thermos flask if you need to keep the coffee hot for extended periods of time.

Of course, if you are only making iced coffee, it probably doesn't matter.

I purchased this coffee maker for my sister because of her love of all things brightly colored. While the coffee maker is somewhat flimsy, it does the trick for the price. She likes "simple" and this machine is that. The only real complaint I have is that I was expecting a coffee pot with a more brilliant blue color as per the picture and the actual product is dark to the point of almost being navy blue.

it leaks, the filter housing is in the way of the pot, meaning you have a hard time getting the pot out because of the rubbing- even for the $13 i paid it sucks.

Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker

Makes great coffee. I read other reviews that said they had problems with the filters, size, cap on the carafe. I have had no problems at all. It fits under my cabinets perfectly, I use the gold filter I bought from amazon, and as long as you read the instructions on how to use it, the carafe pours great.

I have two. They make good coffee. The problem is that on one of them the top of the canister that screws into the bottom of the canister was poorly manufactured such that it hurts my hand each time I screw it in, and it has never gotten better. Making matters worse, this screw-in top has little ridges all around its edge, presumably for better grip. Well, these ridges on the flawed top dig into the hand, causing great pain as I struggle to turn it. So, I have to use a dish towel over the cap when hand-turning it in or out. I have had this coffee maker for over a year. I use it every day at work to make one pot of coffee. It is still working as well as the day I unpacked it. I use higher end whole bean coffee and the coffee maker does not ruin it. The carafe is great. I make a full pot at 6 AM and pour my last cup 6 hours later and it is still hot and I do not pre-heat the carafe! It does exactly what I want and has lasted through frequent use.

First and foremost... shopping for a coffee maker has to be one of the most tedious chores imaginable!!! I shopped off and on for an eternity before I stumbled across this one. Each time I would spend hours scrolling thru Amazon's selection, and it always seemed like everyone hated every model for any number of reasons. And each time I ultimately felt like my head was going to explode, so I would stop shopping altogether and then repeat the process a couple of months later, and repeat, and repeat...

I really wanted a removable reservoir and a reasonably good carafe. Those 2 features dramatically limit the selection process. My Krups had crapped out, and had been limping along for over a year. I pulled the trigger on this, finally, and have been very pleased, so far. The carafe keeps very warm for an acceptable amount of time. The pull-out filter basket is very convenient, and at least seems as though it should hold up well. But most of all... the removable reservoir works great and is vastly more convenient than the traditional alternative! And as far as I'm concerned... it actually makes good coffee, too!!!

If you fancy yourself as a gourmet coffee snob, then you probably want a fancier and more expensive device. If you think the price of this device is a bit too steep... good luck with the cheaper ones! (been there done that) If, however, you require hot coffee in the morning as a prerequisite to even getting your shoes tied or your car started... and you really like the concept of no-water-poured-all-over-the-counter-convenience... and prefer that it not take an eternity to brew a pretty darn good pot of coffee... then this may be perfect for YOU!

(I will admit, though... the Black & Decker brand name did/does not excite me in the least. But so far so good!)

WE are avid coffee drinkers brewing probably too many pots a day. I would not buy or recommend this pot again and here are my reasons why. 1.) The red level ball rarely pops up, you need to tap the pot, 2.) The pot is extremely noisy when brewing, 3.) The water well is hard to fill, we ended up buying a pitcher to use, 4.) the lid is a pain always having to adjust for pouring or keeping warm, 5.) The coffee pours too slow, 6.) the filters are expensive and for the amt we brew we would be chaning filters once a week.

We loved our Braun not sure why they quit making coffee pots.
