Great Cappuccinos, SO easy! 5 out of 5 stars.
7 of 7 people found this review helpful.

I received the Bialetti 1-Cup Electric Mukka Express Cappuccino Maker after a very disappointing experience with Krups latest item. Upon returning Krups for a full refund, I was pleasantly surprised by this small machine. What makes this machine so great is:
1-it is easy to use, just add water, espresso grounds, and milk (will even froth fat-free milk!)
2-plug in the base and push the button, then just go about your business as this little miracle brews and froths a tasty surprise for you (it takes 5-6 mintues)
3-easy to pour and wash. No small parts that will break or get lost and the parts seem to be VERY durable
4-the design is very handsome and easy to store on your counter top until next use since it is small thus not taking up much room

I would recommend this product to any casual coffee/cappuccino drinker who enjoys a tasty brew during the week and doesn't want to fork out money to trot to "4 Bucks"

Editorial Review:

A unique product which allows Italian cappuccino to be prepared in the home, quickly and simply. The easy-to-use Mukka Express is a novel idea that will make every coffee break more pleasurable. With Mukka Express you can prepare 1-cup of cappuccino or basic milk coffee with just a few simple steps.

Z6 Impressa's Me with Features 4 out of 5 stars.
22 of 22 people found this review helpful.

I recently purchased the new Z6 after seeing one at William's Sonoma around Christmas. I resisted the temptation to purchase until a friend of mine called and told me he found one under the Christmas tree! We both purchased the Capresso 1500 about 3 years ago and thought those were the "Cat's Meow". Now fast forward to 2007 and the Z6 is here as the super automatic on steroids.

After unpacking I sat down and watched the included DVD twice. Once with my wife and once alone as I set up the machine. After you get through the initial setup and programming the machine is very easy to operate and maintain. Making a coffee drink is as simple as pushing one of 8 drink buttons on the front panel. I like the idea of the thermal milk storage tank but it's recommended that you don't store milk in it after use. I find this a little inconvenient to have to pour the milk into another container. With my previous C1500 I just put the plastic milk jug in the refrigerator and used it the next day.

I bought this unit to replace my C1500 for two major reasons. The first was my C1500 struggled to make a really hot coffee drink. I found myself drinking the beverage too quickly to avoid it getting cold or putting it into the microwave to heat it back up. The Z6 makes a hotter beverage that is much improved but still could be a few degrees hotter in my opinion. The second reason I purchased the Z6 was to get a bigger cup under the spouts. The C1500 was limited in what size cup I could place under the spouts and the Z6 allows me to put virtually any reasonable sized cup under the spout.

The Z6 is a beautiful piece to look at sitting on your counter and will be the envy of many a guest. However it has a chrome finish which appears durable but I would caution you to take extra precautions not to scratch the finish as it would be permanent. I place a paper towel on the lower tray when using ceramic type mugs to avoid scratching.

Update on 05/26/2008

I would like to say that the Z6 has been performing flawlessly for the past year and a half. As long as you perform the routine maintenance the Z6 will provide many years of trouble-free performance. I've also been putting the thermal milk container in the refrigerator with milk in it with no issues.

Editorial Review:

A shining display through-and-through, this exquisitely outfitted Capresso coffee center rivals any professional setup for style, taste and ease of use. The one-touch cappuccino/latte system does it all ? grinding beans, frothing milk and dispensing the flawlessly fresh brew right into your cup. Two-year warranty. Model 13299.

I love this machine! 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

That's it, plain and simple. I do love this machine. It's been in my home six months now, has broken in well and makes as good as, or better, espresso than I can find in any shop in town. The crema is plentiful and so is the foam, and the taste of the coffee is ambrosia.

A couple of suggestions, though...when it arrives, throw out the coffee pods that ship with it (horrible!), and invest in a good coffee that you can grind and tamp, yourself. And...if you live in a hard water area as I do, use purified water in ANY machine that you purchase, to cut down on scale buildup and improve the taste of your java.

For the passionate 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Let me preface this review by saying that this machine can make the WORST cup of coffee you'll ever drink. "Now," you say, "why would I buy a machine that makes terrible coffee?"

Because the difference between the terrible cup of coffee and the delicious shot is YOU. It's YOUR skill that gets you the great shot. Nothing wrong with feeling good about yourself to start the day.

I've had one of these little things for about five years now. I've got my grind down. Got my tamp down. Got my timing down. When the coffee first appears as I pull, I know how hard or soft to press, how fast or how slow. I know what the "mouse's tail" is, what the shot should sound like as it fills the cup, what the color of the crema should be.

If you're a Starbucks fan and you prefer West Coast style espresso with lots of milk, there's no need to go here. Hey, there's nothing wrong with West Coast style, but there are easier ways to get there than through this machine. If you're like me and you savor the smoothness, body, sweetness and bouquet of good northern-Italian style espresso, this is the machine for you.

The Europiccola is a machine for people with passion, people whose morning coffee borders on a sacrament. And yes, to receive the sacrament, the machine will extract its penance from you on the way. Expecting a great shot first time out? Don't. Expecting a "very good year"? Your first shot will be closer to Goodyear. So begins your journey.

I'll confess to having swum upstream from this seemingly impossible little machine to blending and roasting my own espresso beans. So my morning cup may start its journey a day or two ahead of turning La Pavoni on.

Worth every second of it. There's nothing that adds to the pleasure of the shot like knowing you did it yourself.
