Beware. Made in China. 1 out of 5 stars.

We bought this coffee press expecting that it was made in France. Upon receipt we found that it is made in China. The pot portion looks fair but the lid is of very low quality and it does not seal well. I would not recommend this to anyone. Chinese made products are not safe and often contain toxic materials. We will return it and look for a non Chinese made product to replace it. Buyer beware.

A definite MUST-HAVE if you are into coffee. I am a certified barista and this will give you a great cup of coffee as compared to most commercially-prepared coffees sold by the coffee-shop chains especially if the barista in question doesn't know what they are doing which is quite often.

Better to make the investment in something like this as opposed to the glass coffee-press although this will not KEEP the coffee HOT indefinitely as per other reviewers.

i use cloth wipes, and this pump pot is perfect for holding warm water to moisten my wipes as i need them. it's particularly invaluable in the middle of the night, when i don't want to trudge into the bathroom and wait for the water to get hot, while my baby is waiting to be cleaned. while the water isn't as warm 18 hours later, as when i first put it in, it is still highly reliable for my use. anything that makes my nights smoother is worth it to me!

i use this thermos next to my son's changing table. instead of buying wipes i just use some small clothes (imse vimse's) and wet them with the room temp. water in the thermos and it works wonderfully. since i already use cloth diapers it didn't make sense to use paper wipes. i just put everything in the same bag and wash it all together.

truly, there is no need for any fancy solution or a warmer, water and a cloth does the dirty job just fine.

Unlike most of the buyers of this carafe, I found it to be a serious disappointment, thanks to a major design flaw. The open-and-close mechanism is a dud. After pushing the handle knob to "open," what I get from the spout is little more than a trickle. Returning any product costing less than $25 is such a hassle that I'll just toss it and eventually buy another one, but a more expensive one from another manufacturer -- and keep my fingers crossed.

Zojirushi Premium Thermal 1-Liter Carafe, Brushed Stainless Steel

This is a wonderful product. Truck driver for 32 years and I've seen a lot of thermos/carafe products. This is one of the best ever.
Button sticks? Top probably not fully in place. Base gets loose and leaks a bit? Carefully unscrew the base,carefully wash and dry the bottle and insides then simply do a careful reassembly. Left over condensation in the lid. Several products on the market to clean out any bad stuff.Then simply run several carafes full of water through it 'till smells fresh.. Want it to keep coffee or water a bit hotter? Simply let a carafe of hot water rest in the carafe while you prepare a pot of hot water or your choice of drink and it starts hot and stays hot for a bit longer.
I've owned that little carafe for several months now and it's seen almost 100,000 miles in my truck. Still keeping my coffee hot. Love it.

Works as advertised. Button stopper is a great feature. Keeps coffee very hot. Glass liner does not impart any off flavors to beverages. This particular model is a good size for 2-4 people. Great price at Amazon - I checked around. Very happy with purchase.

I have a grind and brew that is the black plastic model that is the version that comes with the 12 cup glass carafe. I dropped the glass carafe in the sink and it cracked, bummer. I went to get another glass carafe and saw that the stainless thermal carafe was on sale so I bought it without realizing it was not made to use with the Grind & Brew model I owned. It fit perfectly and I was curious why they said "for use with stainless steel grind & brew only" and realized it is because the stainless thermal carafe holds 10 cups, not 12 like my glass one.

SO ANYWAY, what this means is that this thermal carafe works great with ALL Grind & Brew Machines, you just can't set the plastic Grind & Brew machines to make 12 cups of coffee since the steel thermal carafe will only hold 10 cups. NOT A BIGGIE and it's a wonderful bonus; I set my machine the night before and am awoken up by it going off in the morning and now I can have hot coffee without needing to fuss with putting the coffee in a separate carafe. Plus, it keeps it hot FOREVER; I have emptied the leftover coffee after work and it is still warm over 10 hours later.

I love it and highly recommend for any Grind & Brew machine.

After wasting $200 on 2 Cuisinart coffee pot's that didn't last long we researched this Capresso and based on the reviews bought one. It does make a great cup of coffee and that's the bottom line for us. We have had no problems with dripping, or warm coffee. Sometimes we have a cup late in the day and the coffee that's left over still takes good.
Yes, I agree with most that the Coffee Pot is pricey. In the long run I would have saved money if I had gotten the Capresso before I bought the Cuisinart's.

To achieve a spectacular cup of coffee there are essential steps that need to be taken. The water must be free of chlorine taste (hence the charcoal filter), the machine must be able to brew larger or smaller amounts successfully (this one "knows" to disperse hot water more slowly when the coffee ground amount is less). The coffee must be very hot (right around 192 Degrees F, like the brew from the MT500), and kept fresh, as in a double walled stainless steel carafe with a one way valve that keeps flavor and aroma in the coffee. Now it doesn't hurt if the machine itself is gorgeous either, or that it can output 10 cups of coffee in 8 minutes. Oh and one more thing: this is the only coffee maker in its class that has a stainless steel boiler so your coffee doesn't ever come in contact with aluminum. Normally this type of construction, and a 1200 watt heating element are found only on commercial grade appliances.

This is my first pump pot and I wasn't sure how high my expectations should be. I am really wonderfully impressed. At the recommendation of my cloth diaper guru I keep this pump pot full of hot water to use to warm bottles and wet cloth diaper wipes. I am slowing drawing down the volume all day. When I fill the pot with water from the tea kettle even the very last few ounces, ten hours later, will come out scalding hot. I've started to fill it with less-hot water because the darn thing retains heat so well that I was burning myself. (I have never tempered or preheated the pot.) In addition, the pot is easy to fill, operate and clean. To fill, the lid flips back 180 degrees, which gives great access. To clean, the lid is easily removed altogether. When I ordered it I didn't realize that it had a swivel base; it has a smooth, quick swivel action that is handy when maneuvering tea cups, etc around other stuff on the countertop to get at the spout. And lastly, the ss finish cleans up very easily. I expected it to spot like my ss fridge & microwave fronts but with the pump pot the spots just wipe off with a damp cloth. This thing is awesome and I'd order another one in a heartbeat.
