4-Cup MUCH better than 2-cup! 5 out of 5 stars.

Right after I removed it from the box, I knew I made the right decision. It's very nice looking, lightweight, narrow, and a good deal. The 4-cup is a perfect size to have around, especially when you don't have to lug out your larger/heavier processor for some tasks. I can now make hummus and other things with MUCH more ease because it's bigger than the 2 cup and smaller than the 9 cup!

My other Cuisinart was a 2 cup and around 10 yrs old. It still works even thought the display pad became ripped up a bit after several years of use. I'm glad I finally got rid of it because now that there's a 4 cup, these 2 cup ones will prove obsolete if they aren't already.

This is a great product to keep on the counter. It does not take up a lot of room and it's great for quick chops. Its easy to use and clean! Great for smaller projects.

This is an awesome small kitchen essential! Love it. It is very effective in chopping/mashing/pureeing small to medium quantities. I use it everyday. Can't ask for a better tool!
The only thing that is showing signs of aging is the plastic cup which is cracking in places. I have owned it for 2.5 years now and still works great! would buy it again!

I'd say this was the best $20 I've ever spent for my kitchen! I specifically wanted a small appliance that would work for onions, and this product delivers as promised!
It's perfectly small and easy to store. It takes no time at all to set up and clean up. It works wonders with foods like garlic and ginger! At most, when chopping softer, wet foods like onions or peppers, you have to give the bowl a little shake to mix up the contents and then finish chopping. I'll never cook without it!

I purchased this Cuisinart DLC-10S when replacement parts for my 10C became more expensive than purchasing a new one. The new one is BETTER in every way and the bonus is that my old discs still work but new ones are better, too. The size is perfect for me and while I don't use it everyday I do use it at least 4 x's per week. The ease of pastry/dough making is fantastic and vegetable processing is a real time saver. The DVD is very helpful and the recipes easy to follow and delicious.

I am not much of a chef but I love this machine. I makes easy work of cooking. Cleans up easily. If you buy this product I would suggest buying holder for the blades at the same time. Also, if you fix large meals, get the larger one.

I had a similar model of Cuisinart food processor, and the blade recently broke off while in use, broke through the plastic container, and flew across the room. As a result of luck only, no one was in its path. Customer service had no real response; they suggested that I pay $20 to replace the broken parts.

An examination of the broken blade shows that this is likely to be a recurring problem with this model and any other Cuisinarts using a similar blade. It is clear that this structural failure is due to a lack of reinforcement of the blades at the point of riveting. The removal of material for the placement of the rivets, the thinness of the material, and the large amount of leverage placed upon the rivets by the longer blades led to the structural failure of the part. This failure could have happened at any time, and could have caused severe injury to the user. The tempering necessary to create blades that stay sharp is the same tempering that makes it impossible to have such thin, un-reinforced parts. The blades should either be made of thicker material, or have a wider section in the area of rivet contact to avoid failure.

Another of Cuisinart's "next generation" of food processors, this is not as large or quite as powerful as the 14 cup model, but it will perform the same functions and is more than adequate for most families' needs. The large feed tube means less pre-chopping and the dough blade and function ensure you get the perfect dough consistency. I use this processor a lot more than I thought I would. I really value having good knife skills and being able to do things w/o the advantage of electrical machines but it's been really fun using this machine and it's produced very good results.

I've never had a food processor before so I have no idea how the older models worked, in short, I think this food processor does what it's supposed to do. I got the processor for Christmas 2009, since then I have used it for pizza dough, flakey pie dough & crumb crusts, hummus, guacamole, soup, sliced potatoes & other vegetables, shredded cheese, shredded vegetables, and chopped various veggies for various uses. In all of these applications I believe that it has worked wonderfully & how I had anticipated a processor to work. However, I would rather use my immersion blender for soups- it's just easier and produces the same quality.

I really like all of the accessories so that I can use it for multiple tasks w/o having to wash a bowl in between. I love the dial a slice- think paper thin radishes or cucumbers done in lightning fast speed. The accessory holder is very useful for storing everything and keeping it all clean while not in use. The machine runs quiet & is stored on the counter under the cabinets (I put it on a dish cloth so I can slide it back & forth). I was surprised by the size but it just took a little time to get used to seeing it.

As far as washing goes I don't think it's a hassle (I don't like doing dishes either) & I like to keep it looking as new as possible- it usually just takes some soapy water and a rinse. The first time I shredded carrots on the fine grater some of the bits got stuck between the lid and the gasket on the lid. I thought that it would be difficult to get those bits unstuck but all I had to do was run water through the vents on top of the lid and depress the gasket a few times and everything was flushed out.

Now I am always looking forward to the next application I can use the processor for.

KitchenAid KFP740CR 9-Cup Food Processor with 4-Cup Mini Bowl, Chrome

I bought this for my son who is the sous-chef for an upscale local restaurant.

He is very pleased by the versatility and ease of use of this machine. He has favorably compared it to the professional unit in use at the restaurant and in some ways thinks that this is even better and more consistent that the unit at his work.

Good or bad I cannot personally say---but the chef in the family is quite pleased which speaks highlyy for this unit!

KitchenAid KFP740CR 9-Cup Food Processor with 4-Cup Mini Bowl, Chrome

This processor looks great sitting on the counter, but what a disappointment! When liquid ingredients or ingredients that will liquify while being processed (eggs and butter come to mind), a mess is inevitable because of two design flaws:

1. The bowl cover is designed to fit over (on the outside) of the bowl so that liquid that splashes up to the top will drip outside the bowl and onto the counter when the cover is removed.

2. The center wall of the bowl encircling the power shaft covers only one-third of the shaft, so liquid oozes over the shallow wall onto the power shaft. When the bowl is lifted off of the base, liquid leaks out onto the power shaft and base and counter.

My previous processor had a cover that fit inside the bowl and a center wall that extended the full lenghth of the power shaft, hence no leakage problems.

Piece of garbage. Super annoying to reassemble after washing. Can't get the thing to seat onto the base easily. Seems to cut stuff to smithereens in like 2 seconds. Which makes it hard to make a decent pico using the thing.

Probably deserves 2 stars but I'm giving it 1 to balance out all the overly positive reviews.

It's been three years since I got this food processor and it is still my favorite household object. It is beautiful (mine is red) and powerful. It finely chops greens for for dishes like tabbouli, ghorme sabzi, and ashe reshte. It grinds meat or meat-and-bulgur into a paste for cig kofte, kibbeh, and icli kofte. It grinds walnuts into paste for fessenjan and almonds into dust for baklava. I can do so much more with this food processor than I could before! Hummus? Yes! Red pepper/walnut/pomegranate paste dip? You bet!

Probably the most exciting function is for greens. I'd tried other food processors and none could handle parsley, for example, in the volumes needed for a parsley-based dish.

It is not a blender. Use a blender for large amounts of liquids. It is not a coffee or spice grinder. You get the idea.

This is a great food mill. I use it to make baby food, puree vegetables for soup, make applesauce for the family, and much more! It is very easy to turn the handle, easy to clean, and does not rust like the Foley Food Mills I owned in the past. The legs fold nicely for storage. The attachments assemble and are taken apart easily. Although it doesn't have the volume capacity of my previous food mill, it seems to meet the needs of my household.
