This blender does everything we wanted a blender for, from making fruit, yogurt and Kefir smoothies to chopping and liquefying vegetables for drinking. The controls are much better than push buttons. The wave action is excellent for making sure that everything is blended smoothly and leaving no chunks. Blends in much less time than other blenders that we have had, and most of them have been Hamilton Beach. A very pleasant extra is the soft blue light on the bottom of the blender. It provides us with an effective night light in the kitchen, for those nights that we need to get up and stumble out into the kitchen.

Cuisinart DLC-2011 Prep 11 Plus Food Processor, WhiteCuisinart DLC-2011 food processor, 11 cup.
In the instruction manual and DVD Cuisinart lists crucial attachment parts such as a whisk attachment. However, they discontinue these important parts while still selling the main product that has very few attachment parts. Had I known that these parts are not available as advertised I would not have bought this product. Cuisinart's customer service is unhelpful and brisk to rude, will not take the food processor back. They sell it under false promises.

I've probably had this disc for a year. I just used it for the first time last week. I hate I waited so long. I've been using it on potatoes to make hashbrowns and it is wonderful. (If you love Waffle House hashbrowns, this gets you closer to their texture.)
If you have to julienne a fair amount of food, I suggest this over a knife any day. I have not compared it to a mandoline yet.
As with anything done in a processor, there will be some irregular pieces toward the end of the food. These can be fished out and cleaned up with a knife. I wonder if they could be avoided altogether if you "trimmed" the food first. For example after I peel a potato, I just throw it into the feed tube. I wonder if I would have perfect pieces if I took a knife and made sure the sides of the potato were uniform first. As it's just hashbrowns and not a five-star presentation, I'm not looking for perfection.
Disc clean up is easy, hand wash or toss in the diswasher.
