We requested this "food chopper" in our wedding registry and really regret it. The chopping surface is only about two inches wide, which translates to not very much food. That is, if you could it to chop anything. About the only vegetable that doesn't jam it or get mushed into a pulp is mushrooms, and those still jam it most of the time. The blades aren't sharp enough to cut anything, except your fingers when you are trying to figure out how to wash it. Basically, you have to pre-chop your food to put it in this thing to get it chopped. Skip it--buy a nice knife and cutting board instead.

i cook with a lot of onion so i thought this would help me save time but it doesnt. small cutting area, blades are sharp enough and it is difficult to wash. i felt like it's waste of $17 ($14+tax). talk about buyers remorse and now it just sits on my counter doing nothing.

I got this food chopper mainly for onions and think it does a good job for the purpose. Now considering the size of the blade you might have to cut your onion in half or quarter it but my eyes do not tear and that alone is worth a high rating to me.

This seems like it's working OK. I've never owned a Foodsaver before, and this one was a gift from my husband (I just received it). The bag cutter is a joke. It doesn't cut the bags at all, so I just use my kitchen shears. Without a product to compare it to, I'm not sure of the quality the competitors have, but this model vacuums and seals well (so far). It has a manual release that is nice, as well as a manual seal button so crackers, bread, etc doesn't get crushed. It can be a little tricky to keep the end of the bag in the sealer when something big or heavy is in the bag. Sometimes it doesn't want to latch to make a seal, so I have to hold it down. That's a little annoying. I wish I could have tried out two or three different brands/models before buying so I'd have more of an idea of how these are "supposed" to work.
