The item doesn't work at all, is very light plastic that doesn't look like it would last very long if it did work, and according to the instructions "it does not chop ice, does not whip cream, does not beat egg whites to a desirable volume, does not grind coffee beans or spices with a high oil content, does not slice or shred hard-cooked eggs, marshmallows or soft cheeses".

I have found this machine to be very versatile and powerful. I have been able to make pie dough, margaritas, shred a block of cheese in no time as well as carrots for salads and potatoes for hashed browns and in a very short amount of time. Now, the only reason why I do not give this 5 stars is for 2 major reasons. One is because I make apple pies regularly and had hoped this can help make slices for me, which it cannot because although it is marketed as ''wide mouth'', I have found that it isn't wide enough to take on a half of an apple through the feeding tube. Second, is that you HAVE to assemble all the top parts of the machine for it to work, so you are limited to having to cut your food items in order to fit through the rather snug feeding tube. Overall, the blades and machinery are great and handles most jobs really well.

Although this is a well made product I am disappointed that KitchenAid does not make additional attachments (discs, etc.) for the 7 cup model. If I had noticed this before I ordered I would have ordered a different model. The attachments that come with the 7 cup are very limiting and I don't feel I will get as much use out of it as I would if larger slicing discs and other accessories were available.

Consumer Reports rates this food processor as Best Buy...however, they are giving a price of this as just $80.00. How is this being priced at $124.00 here??

Black mold forms in the handle after about a year of normal use. Also, if you are not careful during normal operation, pieces easily gets stuck in various places in the bowl. Great motor and bottom design but the the bowl design is absolutely terrible - not something I would have expected from kitchenaid. This one goes to goodwill.

I ordered the deluxe food processor and got the 3-cup in error. I have not used this product and am still awaiting a response from Amazon about a credit back to my card. I think the 3-cup was $20.00, and I paid 30.00 for the deluxe.

My wife and I can our own vegetables each year. Previously we have used a hand chopper to process the veggies for our relish. We bought this product last winter and have not used it until this summer. Wow! What a great little product. This has made our job much easier. 5 or 6 pulses and the load is done. With our arthritis problems, this is a life saver.
