Very loud and unable to perform 1 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I purchased this product from some other local store but it did not perform as per the price. It looks good but the performance is nothing compared to its appearance. It makes a really really loud noise and I have to keep adding more water to make chutneys and salsa. Then it starts leaking at the base. Avoid at all cost.

No Good 1 out of 5 stars.

I purchased this blender because it seemed like a good deal, however I ended up returning it just two weeks later. It had a lot of perks, such as a thick glass jar, and it was easy to clean. But the major drawback was that the burning motor/plastic smell would not go away. The smell was not pleasant and worried me that I might have a small electrical fire due to the burning.

Broke after sparatic use 1 out of 5 stars.

Don't buy this blender! The seal quickly wears at the bottom it starts leaking and eventually comes apart completely!

Little good, a lot bad 1 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The good: powerful motor, glass jar, good liquid drain on base, simple design, pulse.
The two big bad: 1) The spinning base under the blades is made of a material that heats up and burns some off each time you use the blender. It will leave black gunk on the counter and also when you clean the jar assembly. It's probably toxic too. 2) The worst part is that the blade column is made with some flexibility and it slightly hits against the inside of the glass jar. With less than 6 months after purchase, this is slowly cutting a hole through my glass jar. Yes, leaving microscopic pieces of glass in the drink. The spinning abrasions at the base, and also with the blades against the glass are some reasons for the loud noise. The blade abrasion will also sometimes cause the glass to unscrew from the base assembly while it is in operation, and leave you with a big mess of your contents leaked or thrown everywhere.
Don't buy it.

Awful 1 out of 5 stars.
9 of 10 people found this review helpful.

This couldn't even handle chopping a 1/4 of an onion that had already been roughly chopped.

I have a mini processor attachment for my blender, and while it doesn't hold much, it's way more powerful. This is sitting in a box in the basement, where it's been for 2 years... and where it'll stay.

The worst food processor ever 1 out of 5 stars.

This chopper, if you can call it that, is terrible. I've tried chopping all kinds of foods from veggies to fruit to nuts to cheese. I've tried filling up the bowl, half full and barely anything at all. It doesn't chop. Plain and simple it just doesn't chop the food. I've had pieces of vegetables get stuck on the blade. Then, I'd have to stop and remove the piece and try again. It started to chop a little a couple of times, but then just stopped and the blade kept spinning while chopping nothing.
It was horrible and I've opted now for a bigger 7 cup Kitchen Aid or Cuisinart processor based on reviews here.
Lesson learned, you get what you pay for.

It Works, but... 4 out of 5 stars.

It works but can be a bit messy during clean up. It does make excellent chicken or tuna salad, however the blades sit so low that onions and other veggies are slung out of the way (upward) before being fully shredded. I wonder why they don't put a set of blades all along the shaft of the cup? I also wonder why things can't fit together without gaping holes, but I guess that's what makes us human.

0 Stars 1 out of 5 stars.
17 of 17 people found this review helpful.

This thing is going back to the store! The blade is too far from the chute, allowing food to be pulled into the area above the blade causing jams and a mess. The fit between the blade and the shaft is sloppy allowing the blade to rock. Not good when spinning as the cut becomes uneven and allows even more room between the blade and the chute. The blade is to be flipped for either slicing or shredding. The letters on the blade are barely readable, although the sides are self-explanatory. The shredding edges on our model were not stamped properly so as to have a clean edge for cutting.
Don't waste your time! Spend a little more and have less trouble.

oskar is the best 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I have used my Oskar almost daily since 1992 and it finally bit the dust. I bought a Cuisinart Mini-Prep Processor and it's going back to the store. It's garbage compared to my old Oskar. The bowl of the Cuisinart is flimsy and it doesn't chop well at all. I just ordered another Oskar! The motor is powerful and it chops anything.

Perfect sized processor - Oskar 5 out of 5 stars.

I have used mine since the 80's. Whenever I need to make salsa, it grinds the the garlic perfectly and the Jalapenos also. Making guacamole is also a dream with Oskar. For making marinade using garlic and Jalapenos it is also perfect. Using a large food processor does not make sense for salsa and guacamole, you would not get the same perfectly small granular sized bits of garlic and chiles you want to spread out that taste. Making Chocolate chip cookies I need this to grind those walnuts to whatever sized chucks I prefer. Oskar is the ONLY food processor I use. Another use is grinding (you don't want big chunks ? yuck!) those gizzards and giblets for making real Thanksgiving dressing. One other thing, I bought one for my brother because he borrowed mine so often, at the local swap meet for $7. It was his favorite birthday gift, even though it was used and yellowed from age.

Unavailable parts for this model 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I purchased this KitchenaAid model a few years ago and it is still running strong. But the bowl AND lid are cracked and, after calling KitchenAid, I find that this model has been discontinued and parts are now unavailable. Customer service had no answer except to offer me a "discount" on a new processor!

my bowl cracked! 3 out of 5 stars.

Anyway, this thing seems plenty capable of processing soups, sauces, nuts - pretty much anything, and it's a good size, too. Only thing that seemed to stretch it was a 2-loaf batch of lemon poundcake which filled up almost the entire bowl. But it still mixed fine. The slicing/shredding disc inserts are great for grating carrots and cabbage for coleslaw and for shredding large amounts of cheese (hint: shred lots of cheese and stash it in the freezer - it keeps for a long time!)

Editorial Review:

The next best thing to having your very own sous chef, this machine will have those veggies sliced, diced, or shredded in next to no time. And that's not all it can do: use this multi-purpose equipment to knead dough and purEe soups too.

Older USA Model 5 out of 5 stars.

I have an older (very) USA model. It is GREAT. I hope it never gives out. Workhorse.
Only one thing, blender is small. But, use larger side and works just as well. FOR EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE...

Too bad no longer manufactures for USA.

Love my Braun 5 out of 5 stars.

I also have a very old Braun (5-in-1 kitchen center), and I have been able to get replacement parts as needed...I broke the bowl once, and also needed a new "ice crushing" blade. If the motor gives out, I may be out of luck. Here's hoping Braun will figure out how to make this fantastic product for US use again.
