I bought this replacement blade knowing the part number I was looking for. It arrived fairly quick. Perfectly packaged. In perfect condition. As you might expect... it works fantastic (just like my original blade that has gone missing) The price was fair. I'm perfectly happy.

Sharp! 5 out of 5 stars.

I broke the part and didn't want to buy a new Cuisinart. Buying this part solved the problem.

New blade for Cuisinart Food Processor 5 out of 5 stars.

After using the same blade for 20 years, I was prompted to buy a new blade when watching Martha Stewart's TV show. I went online and ordered through Amazon.com and a brand new blade was delivered. It came exactly as was described and was delivered in a very timely fashion. The new blade is awesome!

Designed Looking Thru a Mirror 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

What is it with food processors that no one can design a unit without a serious flaw? The feed slot and interlock mechanism are on the rear of the unit and the bowl handle and controls are on the front. Like the engineer could not decide if he was coming or going. Maybe they bench tested it with two operators? Also, you better place your unit within 12" of the outlet as the cord is ridiculously short. The cusinart bowl still has the same, easily broken, interlocks that my old unit had.

flimsy, brittle work bowls 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I've used Cuisinart processors for probably 30 years, but unfortunately the quality has gone to hell. I purchased one about 2 years ago, and even though I have used this one infrequently, usually just for grating cabbage for slaw or for making mayonnaise and aioli and only occasionally for slicing potatoes, the bowl is already cracked. The company that now makes Cuisinart is the old Ronco manufacturer. Apparently to bolster their corporate bottom line they have taken steps to cheapen the product and diminish its quality. And to add insult to injury, replacing the bowl, lid, chute and pusher--just the Lexan pieces--will cost you about $100, not significantly less than the cost of a whole new food processor. It's a shame, really, because I've read that the processors made by Kitchen Aide slosh liquids like oil and purees out of the bowl. So the bottom line seems to be that in the USA there are no high-quality, well-designed food processors being made. Kind of sucks, really.

not as great 3 out of 5 stars.
12 of 13 people found this review helpful.

I purchased the set to add to my existing disks mostly because of julienne disk and to save the money (purchasing separately costs about $24.00 in average).I'm greatly disappointed with julienne disk which creates total mess. When I used it for zucchinis I thought well it's because it's too soft, but carrots were even messier. It looked worse than just simple grating. It wasn't uniform in size (some sort of little tiny sticks along with fine shredding) I was looking for long uniform matchsticks. I'm still looking for julienne device which would produce fine long pieces with minimal waste.Any suggesting greatly appreciated

I'm happy with the disc set. 4 out of 5 stars.

I bought this mostly for the french fry cutter. I'm very happy with how the french fries come out. My kids love the taste of fresh french fries. I've seen reviews on this before, commenting on how small the fries are. That is a problem with the size of the opening in the cover, but since that can't be controlled, I'm more than satisfied with the size of the fries. As far as the other discs, I'm still learning to use the food processor so I haven't used them much. They seem mostly to be thicker or thinner versions of slicers I already have, but I'm sure I'll see the need as I do more "processing." I just wish I had a nice case for all of these.

Bummer! 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This unit burned out the VERY FIRST time I used it. Nor was I rough with it in any way. Unfortunately, the first time I used it was just past 30 days from my Amazon purchase, so Amazon.com won't take it back. From reading other reviews, I can see that this has happened to several other buyers. Evidently you pay $10 shipping on a $20 item to send it back to Cuisinart. Wish I'd read the reviews before buying -- this not-so-nifty little item is now in my trash.

Almost perfect 5 out of 5 stars.

I use my Cuisinart Mini Mate Chopper almost every day to mince garlic. Yes, it throws some pieces on the top, which requires wiping it out or rinsing quickly to not get water in the motor. BUT it is perfect for small quantities-one to 10 cloves, as well as ginger, etc. The 2 blade shaft parts came apart after many dishwashings, but I just used superglue to put the two parts back together.

I just ordered another Mini Mate for our vacation home, after buying several larger (but as small as possible) more expensive choppers that just don't work well for small jobs.

Terrifically handy, and a great time saver.

Editorial Review:

More convenient than ever, the Cuisinart Elite collection 4-cup chopper/grinder effortlessly handles a variety of food preparation tasks such as chopping, grinding and pureeing. The smartpower blade has a patented auto-reversing ability with a sharp edge for delicate chopping and pureeing soft foods, while the blunt edge grinds through spices and harder foods. Additionally, the revolutionary bladelock system feature keeps the blade secure during processing and pouring. Small enough to keep on the counter, the 4-cup work bowl is the ideal size for many food prep tasks. The handle, touchpad controls, and dishwasher safe parts make it even more convenient to operate and clean. It's cutting-edge food prep from Cuisinart.

From the Manufacturer

In 1973, Cuisinart expanded the potential of every American kitchen with the introduction of the food processor. Now, the folks who revolutionized the way you cook are back with a collection that takes power and innovation to the next level.

The Cuisinart Elite Chopper/Grinder handles a variety of food preparation tasks, such as chopping, grinding, pureeing, emulsifying, and blending. The 4 cup capacity holds enough ingredients to perform all your basic food prep tasks. The patented SmartPower auto-reversing blade features an incredibly sharp edge for delicate chopping and pureeing soft foods. The reverse edge is blunt, to grind through spices and harder foods. And the exclusive BladeLock System enables the blade to lock into the bowl, so you can now pour ingredients out of the bowl without first having to remove the blade. The powerful high-speed motor works hard and fast to accomplish small jobs with ease. Chop herbs, onions or garlic; grind spices or hard cheese; puree baby foods; blend homemade mayo and flavored butter -- all in one compact machine that is small enough to keep on the counter. You have virtually unlimited options with the Cuisinart Elite Collection Chopper/Grinder.

Features
  • Convenient Size, Compact Design: Small enough to keep on the counter, the 4-cup work bowl is the ideal size for many food prep tasks. The handle, touchpad controls, and the dishwasher safe parts make it even more convenient to operate and clean.
  • Optimum Safety: No need to remove the blade after processing! The exclusive BladeLock System secures the blade in place for easy user-friendly pouring. Pour all you like -- these blades aren’t going anywhere. The patented blade system saves you the time and hassle of removing them before pouring out those potentially messy soups and sauces.
  • Simplicity: The Chop/Grind touchpad controls and patented auto-reversing SmartPower blade offer powerful processing options at the touch of a button.
Tips for Better Food Processing
Food size: Always cut large pieces of food into smaller pieces of even size -- about 1/2 an inch -- to produce a uniform chop.
Chop and Grind Function
Bowl fill: Do not overload the work bowl; processed food should not reach more than two-thirds of the way up the work bowl. Please note: because of the powerful motor, it is recommended to use one hand to support the chopper/grinder during operation.
Chop vs. Grind: Use the Chop function for chopping, pureeing and mixing. It is the right choice, for example, for chopping soft, fragile food such as herbs, celery, onions, garlic and most cheeses. It is also the right choice for pureeing cooked vegetables, making mayonnaise, and mixing salad dressing. Use the Grind function for grinding spices, and for chopping hard foods such as peppercorns, seeds, chocolate and nuts.
Pulse vs. Continuous-hold: Pulsing is best when you are using the chop function. Two or three pulses are often enough. Be sure to check the food frequently to prevent over processing. If you over-process, you are likely to get a watery paste instead of a fine chop. A continuous-hold is best when you are using the grind function. Depending on the food, you may have to operate the unit for several seconds to achieve the desired results -- or as long as 20 seconds for some seeds. When operating in continuous-hold, use a pulse action every 10 seconds to allow food to drop to the bottom of the work bowl. This provides more consistent results. Never operate the unit continuously for longer than one minute at a time.
Adding liquid: You can add liquids such as water, oil or flavoring while the machine is running. For example, you might want to add oil when making mayonnaise or salad dressing, or you could add vanilla or alcohol when making frozen yogurt. Pour the liquid through one of the two openings in the cover. Please note: only add liquid through one opening at a time. The other opening must be left unobstructed to allow air to escape. If both opening are blocked, liquid cannot flow smoothly into the bowl.
Removing food from the sides of the bowl: Occasionally food will stick to the sides of the bowl as you process. Stop the machine to clear the food away. Once the blade has stopped, remove the cover and use the included spatula to scrape the food from the sides of the bowl back into the center. Do not put hands into bowl unless unit is unplugged.

Quick Start Guide
  1. Place the work bowl firmly on the motor base. Opening the at the back of the bowl must face column at the back of the Chopper/Grinder. Turn bowl counterclockwise to lock in place.
  2. Insert the blade assembly. Carefully pick up the blade by its hub and place on the center stem until it drops to the bottom of the stem. Firmly push to lock the blade into position. NEVER TOUCH THE BLADE ITSELF AND NOTE THE BLADE IS NOT PERMANENTLY LOCKED.
  3. Place food in the work bowl. Be sure the food is cut into small pieces, and the bowl is not overloaded.
  4. Lock the cover into position.
  5. Press the appropriate Chop or Grind control, depending on the food you are processing.
  6. When you have finished processing the food, stop the machine by releasing the control button.
  7. ONCE THE BLADE STOPS MOVING, unplug the unit.
  8. Remove cover and work bowl
    1. Turn work bowl cover clockwise to remove.
    2. Turn work bowl clockwise to unlock and lift lid off base.
Note: thicker ingredients can be removed while work bowl is still on base.
  9. To remove liquids and sauces from bowl: simply pour ingredients out of work bowl. The convenient BladeLock System keeps the blade safely in place.
  10. To remove thicker ingredients from bowl: Carefully remove the blade assembly by holding the handle on the top of the sheath and gently pulling up to disengage blade lock. Remove food with spatula.
Tips: Always process foods in order, from dry to wet, to avoid having to clean bowl and blade between each task. Never operate the Cuisinart Elite Collection Chopper/Grinder without ingredients in the work bowl.

The BladeLock System
Cleaning and Storage
To simplify cleaning, rinse the work bowl, cover, and blade immediately after each use. Wash blade assembly, work bowl, cover, and spatula in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry. Use caution when washing the blade.
Make Hummus in Minutes
Avoid leaving the blade in soapy water where it may disappear from sight. The work bowl, cover, blade assembly, and spatula can be washed on the top rack of a dishwasher. Wipe the motor base clean with a damp sponge or cloth. Dry it immediately. Never submerge the motor base or plug in water or other liquid.
The Cuisinart Elite Collection Chopper/Grinder stores neatly on the countertop in a minimum of space. When it is not in use, be sure to leave it unplugged. The hidden cord storage underneath the motor base will help to keep excess cord off the countertop. Store the unit assembled to prevent loss of parts. Store the blades out of reach of children.

Junk 2 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Buyers beware! This unit costs way too much considering how flimsy it is. My wife has used ours 10 or 12 times and already the handle on the container has failed. It doesn't take much to make it fail. She was trying to turn the container off the base and the handle fractured a small tab off. This jammed the safety mechanism inside the handle to the point it will no longer let the unit even turn on. We did NOT buy this from Amazon, but since we do make purchases here, I thought it best to let others know. We are going to buy the Cuisinart Prep 11 Plus DLC2011. It was rated #1 by [...].

I have found this machine does everything I want it to do. I just wish I had known that it had a separate appliance to do small things like chopping up parsley or cilantro when I purchased it. I would have ordered that also. It's just great, even without that.

Worst quality KA product we've ever owned 1 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

We have several other KitchenAid appliances and products. So,I purchased the KitchenAid Food Processor, KFPW760WH. While it functions satisfactorily, the quality of the plastic is beyond sub-standard. The first event occured after the bowl and lid were subjected to three hand-washings. When attempting to use it the fourth time, I noticed a large crack in the clear bowl. I called KA, send pictures because the rep really didn't believe it, and they replaced the bowl without charge since it was within one year (actually within 3 months) of ownership. Rep maintained that item is top rack dishwasher safe...say it isn't so! Why would I want to chop 10 lbs of onions then handwash the appliance. So for the fourth cooking event, do I dare give it another try ? (chopping all of those onions by hand became tedious and time consuming, and after all, why did I spend over $200 to let it sit on the counter.) Again, it worked just fine for the task, and onto the top rack of the dishwasher it went...the rep said it was ok! It was gently washed, and air dried. I can attest that there were no flying knives, spatulas or forks in the dishwasher during this event. When I retrieved it from the dishwasher rack, the white handle fell into four pieces and sevaral shards. We had another mess on our hands. There are just two of us in this house, no pets, and neither of us had a sleep walking incident. So once again, a call to the service center, where I registered my dislike and ordered the replacement parts, at $65+. I sewed a very stylish cover for it, removed it from the counter, and placed it in the garage. I wrote a letter to KA in MI, (KitchenAid 553 Benson Rd. MD 8060 Benton Harbor, MI 49022) for which I am awaiting a response. Nearly $300 into the product and it's too big to be a paperweight. It now sits in the garage on the shelf and each time I go out to the garage to get my car, I mumble at it as I pass the shelving units. It takes up valuable storage space. We continue to use a wedding gift, an Oster brand mini chopper circa 1979. It is dishwasher safe and doesn't have any cracks in it. They sure don't make some things today with any level of good quality.

Some good some bad 3 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

As others state the work bowl is well made but there seems to be some variance in the manufacturing of these bowls. In my case the top will need to be sanded as the size (diameter) is not to the tolerance of the original top piece as well as a small piece of the interlock at the top needs to be cut/removed in order for the lid to fully rotate onto and lock with the bowl. This is at the top of the interlock pin housing. If you are not up to these tasks of adoption you will be shooting in the dark as to the instant fitting and adaptability of this bowl. As I am a long time engineer and fix it guy this task is nothing more than an inconvenience but for others it could present a major problem.

It's shatter proof and heat and cold resistant, but should yours get damaged, or if you just need a back-up, it's available separately. Fits all 14-cup food processor models.About Cuisinart... In 1973, Carl Sontheimer introduced the world to its first Cuisinart food processor. His design, a creative adaptation based on an elaborate industrial blender, was soon widely produced in France and became indispensable in homes across the world. Since then, Sontheimer's original appliance has evolved, and additional Cuisinart products have been added, contributing to the original collection of time-saving tools used by professional chefs and home cooks alike. Even after 25 years, Cuisinart is still one of the most recognizable brands in quality kitchenware.
