Kitchenaid Ice Blade 4 out of 5 stars.
7 of 8 people found this review helpful.

While this is made especially or claimed special for Parmesan Cheese Grating and slushies or ice cones, I purchased it for making Latkes or as also known, potato pancakes. The traditional way of making with slivers is not at all as good in flavor and texture and consistency as using this blade. The old way of using a rough hand held blade grinder was time consuming, somewhat dangerous on the knuckles and VERY tiring on the hands and arms. This blade makes it nearly instant and with very good results. I don't know why Kitchenaid doesn't push this usage, but someone should. It takes a very, very labor and time consuming delicious dish and makes it very quick and easy. Now it doesn't have to be a Jewish Holiday to eat this delicious side dish. And just in case you have never tried them there are carloads of recipes on the web and they ARE delicious and not bad on the diet either. A little flour, some onion, an egg, salt and pepper and a frying pan. they are great with applesauce and or sour cream and pork recipes. Roast Pork with these on the side, to die for. Try it, I beleive you will love it too.

Poor Quality! 1 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This is very poor quality, the lid cracked and broke very easily. To replace the lid it will cost $20 and I am not sure it will be worth it as the new one is probably just as flimsy. Also, it doesn't work well with more "liquidy" mixes as some of the mixture will spray out of the side, even if the guard is in place. I honestly wish I had splurged on something a little nicer and not wasted $40 on this piece of machinery that is more than likely headed to a landfill somewhere.

High hopes 3 out of 5 stars.

I purchased the B&D Food Processor hoping to find an easy to use, easy to clean processor with a capacity to hold at least 2 cups of volume. This product has a good blade, which some do not have, but it is bulkier than I expected. I think they could have designed a more compact unit with the same features. As it is, it takes up a lot of room on my counter.

Precise control. Slice, shred, chop, mince, mix or blend, with convenient pulse control or Always On flexibility - this food processor lets you match the right speed to the right processing task every time.

The on button is too hard and deep to push. 2 out of 5 stars.
3 of 6 people found this review helpful.

I wasn't very impressed with this hand blender! You have to break your finger to push the one button, and it is a very deep button. The rubber covering the on button will rip very quickly because of this problem. I am very unsatisfied with my purchase.

Used only 3 times before it broke 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I thought this would be a great purchase! But, I used it 3 times, and then it just stopped working. I made deviled eggs once, beat 2 eggs once, and pureed cooked beans once. Worked great each time, but, the next time I tried to puree the cooked beans, it just didn't work. No odd noises, no nothing. I just pressed the button and nothing!

Didn't last long 2 out of 5 stars.

I can't remember exactly when I purchased this, but the piece with the motor (that runs all 3 attachments) is already broken. I guess the motor burned out. So now my attachments are all worthless, and I never even used the chopper, it's still wrapped in plastic. Plus, as a previous poster said, the button is difficult to push. I'm trying to find out if I can get a replacement part and how much it costs. It might not even be worth replacing.

The Oster 2619 3 in 1 hand blender, mini chopper and electric knife has a powerful 350 watt motor to provide exceptional performance for blending, chopping and cutting.

What a joke! 1 out of 5 stars.
7 of 7 people found this review helpful.

When I decided to purchase this product, there were only two reviews and both were all right, so I thought I would give it a try. I was specifically looking for something to chop organic matter just a little bit smaller before it went out into the compost bucket on my back porch. In other words, I was not looking for food to be cut very small or uniformly and this processor still doesn't perform-- even after I do most of the chopping for it first. Instead of real chopping blades, it simply has two razor blades. They don't cut much, but after just a few spins they invariably get stuck on something really tough. You know. Like a leaf of spinach or piece of pear. The manufacturers should have just saved the plastic and left the nonskid ring off the bottom; it works so poorly for keeping the processor in place, I exert more effort holding it in place than I do turning the handle.

Don't waste the money on this one!

Poor Quality 2 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I love the color but that is about it. The product has proven to have a fragile system. I use it on average once a week to puree/chop 1 small onion and garlic. It works fine for about 6 weeks and I don't know what happens but the motor stops working. I have had the appliance replaced twice and the same thing happens. I have had my Cuisinart for years and never had a problem.

Do not buy 2 out of 5 stars.
2 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I bought this item over a year ago, seldom used it and it is already broken. I believe it is a design flaw. It has a recessed button in the base that should start the chopper when the bowl and cover are properly seated. Probably the second time I went to use this the button in the cover is not pushing hard enough on the button in the base. If I use a pick to press the button the motor will run, but it is impossible to use since the button is covered up when the bowl is in place. It's a very pretty color pink, but that's about it. I had a Cuisinart for years before it finally gave out. I'm buying another Cuisinart.

Editorial Review:

This little powerhouse is up for any job, no matter how tough, as long as you don't need large quantities of food processed quickly. When might an appliance such as this prove indispensable? How about for chopping lots of onions, nuts or cheese? Perhaps for making a decadent buttercream frosting, guacamole, salsa or spinach dip? KitchenAid's insistence on fine performance is backed by their total replacement warranty.

Go with the Cuisinart Elite 1 out of 5 stars.
8 of 10 people found this review helpful.

We purchased this Food processor after an extensive research, reading reviews on various sites, checking the product manuals and etc.
We had to return it after giving it couple of tries. Did not meet expectations whatsoever. The most disappointing was the fact that you could put only up to 5 (five!) cups of liquid into so called 12 cups food processor. This was NOT disclosed anywhere. This makes it pretty useless for most of the applications. Second biggest disappointment was that it leaked over the center under a stem. Cleaning was a nightmare. When we tried kneading the dough it was a disaster. With 2.5 cups of flour the machine would dance all over the counter. Dough would escape through the center and get under the stem. Try to get it out! We were quite patient and gave it couple of tries but gave up at the end! We returned it and bought a 14 cups Elite Cuisinart Food Processor. It has MOST of the attachments, much better ADJUSTABLE slicing disk, more convenient storage container, does not leak, has a separate dough setting and the same 3 bowls design which was one of the most convincing reasons for purchasing of this one. And - yes - it holds up to 10 cups of liquid in the main bowl and the level is marked on each bowl as well! I would definitely research that one if you are looking. It is just A BIT bigger but SO MUCH better!

Didn't last the long-haul 2 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I loved this combination food processor-blender. It did all the work I needed, it was easy to switch out the different parts of the unit, and easy to wash and clean.

I bought the unit in late 2004, and used it until late 2008, so it lasted for 4 years.

Unfortunately, the warranty is only for 3 years and the motor burned appears to have burnt out. I would expect a blender that costs this much to last much longer especially given that I did not use it all that frequently.

For the first couple years, it performed very well, then it started to have trouble crushing frozen fruit, let alone ice. Then one day it stopped working altogether.

I may try to take it to a local repair shop, but I'm hesitant to spend the time and money to ship it off to the cuisinart repair when they are unable to give me a quote for the cost of the repair.

*
Update May 2010: The repair shop was unable to fix it, as the electics had gone out; it costs more to replace them than to buy an entirely new unit. The repairman said that the prices on these items had gone down significantly because they are using cheaper parts. He thought I was lucky and unusual to have had mine last for so long. At any rate, when I looked at new blenders, I thought I was buying the same unit, but I accidentally got the cheaper: Cuisinart BFP-703CH SmartPower Duet Blender / Food Processor,
$78.49 ; I couldn't recommend that one LESS--very cheap and poorly made.

At any rate, I recently used my friend's top of the line cuisinart that is expressly for food processing. It slightly bigger and heavier than this model. It is far quieter and it is done processing in a couple of seconds vice a minute or so. I strongly recommend going that route.

Editorial Review:

Cool Cast Metal and Commercial styling make the Smart Power Premier Duet one of the most sophisticated appliances on the market. This phenomenal multitasker is two appliances in one, delivering twice the performance options and in half the counter space.

Great little food processor 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

We bought this item to replace an older, larger food processor from Hamilton Beach which died after many years of service. This little rascal is great! We're just cooking for two, so it's plenty big for most all of our needs. The secret seems to be to pulse the cutter using the "chop" button. (Just like the directions tell you to!) If you let it run, you'll turn your ingredients into a puree. (That's French for mush!) Of course, if that's what you're after, go for it. I've used it for onions for hot dogs, pickles for potato salad, jalapenos for salsa, black beans for soup, etc.

I used to always chop onions with a knife, now I just cut the onion into cubes, throw 'em into the Mini prep, jog the "chop" button a few times, and viola, chopped onions. Clean up is easy, too. The knife lifts out, and there's just the knife, the lid, and the main container to clean up.

It doesn't take up nearly as much precious counter space as my old food processor, either. Would definitely buy this item again!

Very Useful Kitchen Gadget 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I love this 3 cup food processor! I use this for my everyday family meal cooking. Very helpful in chopping carrots in small bits. I always add carrots or any vegetable to ground meats so that I can sneak some vegetables to my kid's meals. This chopper do a good job in chopping carrots that my kids dont even notice the veggy in their meatballs, burger, spaghettie sauce, etc... To get better results, I chop the carrots first into cubes and then toss them in this chopper and I do shake the chopper to get better results because it does not do a good job when you dont shake them. For the price of this chopper, I dont have complains and dont mind at all preping the carrots and shaking the chopper because I hate manually chopping hard raw carrots into tiny bits, it is very tedious and dangerous! I do have the very much expensive and 'state of the art' cuisineart food processor - which I use very rarely because it takes a lot of time to set-up and clean afterwards. So for everyday-family meal-chopping chores, I will definitely recommend this. It's cheap, convenient, and very useful.

I tried using this once to chop bell peppers and celery and it turn into a juicy salsa, so not recommended if your NOT making salsa. But if you want salsa, this machine is great! My sister makes salsa and shrimp cocktails all the time and she uses this chopper all the time.

So definitely recommended. By the way, I had mine for three years already and it is still working!

Editorial Review:

Whether you're making cakes, pies, salads, or sides, this Hamilton Beach food chopper makes it easy to chop up to 3 cups of onions, garlic, carrots, celery, nuts and much more. It's even perfect for smoothies just whirl frozen fruit and yogurt together and, in a few seconds, it's done. Use high speed for fine chopping and low speed for coarse chopping. Why bother with a food processor? The 72600 FreshChop is compact, simple to use, and does the job with no fuss. It puts the pleasure back into food preparation.
