Why did I wait so long? 4 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

The Cuisinart food processor was always one of those kitchen gadgets I thought I could live without. for the most part I enjoy chopping fresh food with a chef's knife, by hand etc. but my recent interest in raw food preparation led me to purchase the 7-cup Cuisinart food processor. After seeing how quick and easy it is to whip up recipes I now wonder why I waited so long to get one. I have a Vitamix and thought I could do everything in it but the depth of the container makes it too tall to get smaller quantities of food out as efficiently as the Cuisinart's shallower bowl and spatula can. The Cuisinart is less messy than the attachments I have for my Kitchen Aide Mixer that shred carrots etc. too.
It does not however chop dried herbs as finely as the Vitamix and powdered herbs are easy to pour from the tall container - as long as it is not something you need to scrape out with a spatula -the Vitamix is great too.
I am very happy with my Cuisinart and like how you can just keep adding different ingredients for a recipe right in the same mixing bowl, this is a feature you don't get with just any chopper/shredder. It is easy to clean and easy to use. I am looking forward to using it a lot in my kitchen.

No complaints 3 out of 5 stars.

I bought this food mill to make baby food for my 6-month old. Based on the other reviews, it seemed like the best model for the money.

I like that it's easy to take apart and put together - just a few pieces that fit together quickly. And the rubberized feet keep the mill in place over bowls of different sizes. I also love how it the feet fold up, making it easy to store. But as someone used to modern appliances in the kitchen, I didn't anticipate that this is product would require quite so much time and elbow grease.

I used the mill most recently on steamed peas; it took about 20 minutes to process a 12-oz bag that I had steamed in the microwave, and I had to stop frequently to scrape the bottom of the mill. But I was left with even-textured baby food, and all of the tough outer portion of the peas was left up top. So for me, this is an ideal tool for mashing up fruits and vegetables that have a peel or tougher portion that I don't want to feed to the baby. However, I've prepared carrots both with the food mill and in a food processor...the food processor is MUCH faster and easier. Maybe as my daughter gets older and can handle thicker consistencies, I'll get more use out of this. But for anyone planning to use this food mill primarily to make baby food, I'd recommend holding off and simply using the food processor that you already have in your kitchen.

Good price for the product 5 out of 5 stars.

I had one of these models for years and it performed like a champ. My son, who's a chef, was used to industrial-strength choppers and broke it when trying to open it. I looked for a replacement and couldn't find anything to match it at the same price. I don't have to baby it, just keep it away from my son.

An Excellent Food Processor 4 out of 5 stars.

I got the Hamilton Beach food processor after thoroughly reading all of the reviews, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed!

Admittedly, I have not tried to cut up a block of cheese with it, as I do not eat much cheese, so I can't be sure whether or not the review about it not being able to do so is accurate. However, what it does do extraordinarily well is:

Chop, mince, or puree vegetables.
Grate potatoes, celery, and onions with ease (admittedly leaving a few very small ungrated portions, but I have yet to see a food processor which does not).

That's all I've used it for so far. I haven't made dough in it yet or anything, although I am sure I will try that out soon enough. My general impression of the Hamilton Beach 10 cup processor though, is that it works really well, has a great capacity, and has no real downsides that I have yet found.

I use it really often, almost every time I make dinner.

Editorial Review:

If you need a no-nonsense food processor, the Braun K650 Combi Max is the way to go. You are in complete control of your food preparation with this machine, an excellent feature when it comes to choosing which speed is best for what ingredient. Its powerful 600 watt motor makes chopping, slicing and shredding as simple as pressing a button?which is exactly what you have to do. You can modify this electronically controlled processor's speed to adapt to your needs, whether you require cutting, peeling or slicing. The variable speed function lets you decide what to do with your food, and includes a pulse button for an extra burst of power. Also included with this processor, a plastic universal bowl (sealed to prevent leakage), a cream propeller whipping tool, stainless steel shredding disc and slicing disc, all of which are dishwasher safe. The Braun K650 Combi Max works with an electronic overload protection dual safety system making it safe, and though a powerful machine, it's ultra silent. There's nothing left to do but enjoy this machine.

Editorial Review:

Two powerful kitchen appliances have been brought together in this blender/food processor by Cuisinart. The heavy-duty motor base is up to both blending and processing tasks, and won't "walk" on the counter, even when it's crushing ice. Use the blender with its dripless pour spout to make and serve 40 ounces of frozen drinks or to purée baby foods or soups; use the processor to prep up to 3 cups of vegetables, cheeses, nuts, and meats. With one motor base, it's simple to keep the blender out on the counter and then bring out the processor attachment for special tasks.

This is an amazingly sturdy product, with tight-fitting lids, a heavy glass blender jar, and a motor that chops meat or ice with equal aplomb. Most attachments are dishwasher-safe, and the flat touch pad, which has seven settings (including ice crush and pulse), is easily wiped down with a sponge. This dual appliance comes with a booklet that explains how to use all the features and lists 48 recipes, from cranberry-orange mimosas to classic mayonnaise. --Maria Dolan

good buy 5 out of 5 stars.

I've never had a food processor, but friends kept saying how handy they were. I looked at everything Amazon had to offer and read the reviews. In the end I'm delighted. I didn't spend a lot of money. It does everything I'd like it to do. I'm in weight Watchers and making their muffins is a breeze with this little machine. It chops the cereal, blends the dry ingredients and mixes the wet into it easily. One bowl for everything. Wonderful. It has a lot of power. The blade is a little high to entirely chop all the cereal instantly, but a few extra pulses has it to a farily fine powder. The one complaint is the on/off dial only has little nubs for gripping to turn off & on. If you have wet or arthritic hands it might be a little difficult. This is definitely worth the money though.

Saves time! I can make so many things! 5 out of 5 stars.

Some of the best money I ever spent in the kitchen! As long as you don't overload this (2/3 for less dense stuff, if you're chopping anything hard like carrots, beets, cabbage, cut it up into smaller chunks and only fill 1/3 of the container), it works like a dream and has made a variety of dishes possible or easier for me to make at home. Great example would be cabbage salsa or tomatoes for a potluck pasta salad - it's nice to have it so uniformly chopped up. You'll want to play with the pulse setting a bit to get used to how long it takes to get certain foods down to the size you want, and I'm a teeny bit worried the plastic parts, especially the rotator-y spindle in the middle (sorry, not a small appliance mechanic...) will eventually crack and break. BUT, I still highly recommend this product, I've had so much fun with it and if it does ever break I'll definitely replace it.
