Best food processor I've ever had 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I always check Consumer Reports before I buy anything and they gave this machine it's top rating. After using it for a while, I have to agree. It performs very well and the wide opening lets me chop large pieces of vegtables without having to chop them up thin in order to get them into the chute. I can't recommend this processor highly enough.

new safety features are a hassle 3 out of 5 stars.

The new "Safety Features" on the DFP-7BC model make it awkward to use. The motor works well once you get the items into the processor. The problem is that the "pusher" part doesn't come all the way out of the "feed tube". You have to take the lid completely off any time you want to add more food. I was disappointed at the poor design of this product. This is not what I expected from Cuisanart. I took it back and got the DLC5BC which still holds 7 cups but doesn't have the dorky inconvenience features.

Editorial Review:

7-cup capacity and versatile assortment of blades and discs. The extra large feed tube and pusher and sleeve assembly handle whole fruits and vegetables with ease.

For experienced users only. 4 out of 5 stars.

There are a lot of things I like about this Oster Inspire model, mostly I like the sleek industrial design that looks really great on your countertop. And its a good thing, because at FIFTEEN LBS you wont be removing this thing to the cabinet, or visa versa, very often.

I also like the extra sharp cutting blade, but I dont like the fact that it arrives with no blade guard, and wedged into the styrofoam packaging so tight you basically have to hammer it out of the package while making sure the exposed blade doesnt slice your toe off. I also like the plastic storage case for all the many accessories, but I dont like the abridged manual with its complete lack of illustrated instructions. Dont believe me, download the manual above, its cryptic and incomplete. However, on the flip side it makes me laugh that the English manual is 6 pages, while the French and Spanish manuals are a whopping 8 pages long! haw haw

But, when it comes right down to doing its job, this is the best food processor I've ever used. Its powerful, and makes quick work out of virtually any kind of vegetable, fruit, or meat, and cleanup is a breeze. But dont get too excited about the "gourmet french fry" cutter, unless you like your fries cut to one inch lengths.

Oster also includes a booklet titled "The Art of Food" which I was quite sure had a collection of recipes that benefited from a versatile food processor, but to my dissapointment all I got was a collection of random recipes from pork chops to pizza to even donuts that merely encourage you to use other Oster kitchen products. And alas, if you were wondering....yes, this machine was Made in China. (harrumfff snort growl)

Overall I give this beautiful device a 5 for the design, and 2 1/2 for Oster's irresponsible packaging and crappy documentation. 4 Onions

Beware of the blade 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I bought this foodprocessor recently and have used it only twice with good performance. But when I was washing it before the first use, the blade piece easily sliped and gave me a real deep cut in one of my fingers. The shape of this piece is conic and has nothing to grip to. If you buy this machine, please BEWARE OF THE BLADE.

Hamilton Beach Food Processor 70550R -- Love it! 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I was given this food processor as a gift, and I truly love it. It makes uniform pieces of everything I have tried in it. The only way it would make mush out of things is if you let it go too long.

One great feature is that you can choose to have the chopped food go into a bowl instead of staying in the food processor bowl -- great for cutting up vegies and fruit.

The instructions say not to use the machine to crush ice, so I guess Happy Camper did not read the few instructions in the book. This machine is very easy to operate, has some great features (a hole to pour in oil for dressings and several blade options), and is very easy to clean as well. I am buying one for a present for someone else, I love it so much.

    Editorial Review:

This food processor with dual feed tubes for wide and narrow food items and 3 work bowls provides versatility to handle your daily meal preparations from breakfast to dinner, appetizers to desserts, as well as the capacity to process large quantities of food for entertaining large crowds. The food processor's induction motor provides power for the most demanding tasks, and a pulse control provides precision results when a light touch is needed. The 12 cup primary work bowl combines with the processing accessories to chop, blend, slice, or shred large quantities, mix and knead yeast dough, whip eggs, and juice citrus fruits. To assist with food preparation, two accessory bowls can be placed inside the primary work bowl, keeping it clean for other tasks: the 10 cup chef's bowl works with the slicing and shredding discs, and the 4 cup mini bowl has a mini blade to quickly chop, mince, and puree small quantities. The food processor's ultra wide mouth feed tube accommodates large food items, such as tomoatoes, cucumbers, and potatoes with minimal or no sectioning, allowing you to slice or shred long strips. The food pusher also has a narrow feed tube for slicing long, slender foods such as carrots and celery, and allows the addition of ingredients while the food processor is running. A narrow food pusher guides small food items, such as nuts and herbs, through the narrow feed tube. A premium quality stainless steel multipurpose blade chops, minces, blends, mixes, or emulsifies foo

Mixing: Excellent, Cleanup: Ugh... 5 out of 5 stars.
13 of 13 people found this review helpful.

This mixer is powerful. You have the main unit where you attach your bowl, and a secondary unit where you can attach a blender.

There are many, many accessories you can buy for this unit. Be sure if you buy accessories you buy for the correct unit as accessories for this model are NOT interchangeable with Bosch's previous all-in-one machine! I've already had to return one attachment because I made this mistake. Look for accessories that have a model number starting with MUZ6!

This machine tears up just about any food you throw at it. When you turn it on you can get the feel for the full 800 watts of power it is capable of by it's roaring sound. You may need to run to your circuit breakers to find a suitable plug for the unit, since 800watts is just about the limit most circuit breakers can take. It's doubtful you can run this unit along with another kitchen appliance at the same time in the same receptacle.

Cleanup is not fun, not fun at all. I did not like the design of the bowl in this aspect. There are plenty of crooks and crevices that dough gets in that take some scrubbing to get out. Some of the crevices near the top center of the bowl seem rather useless too. I would have liked to see a much smoother bowl.

While on the subject of the bowl, other than cleanup, it's an awesome design. There is a removable splash guard around the rim that allows you to add flour to a recipe, while the unit is running without making a mess. You also have another lid that fits into the splash guard for the bowl to cover it should you need to rise dough.

My unit came with the blender, so I'll review it here as well. The blender is wonderful too. I can actually grind my own wheat in it for pancakes and cleanup is a snap. Also the design of the blades is ingenious as one blade is actually pointed downward toward the base to clear shop where most blenders don't touch. One problem I did have was with the blades and how they attach to the blender. They are removable, but when you put them back you need to really make sure that you tighten it well. If they are not tight enough, your blended battery goo will fall down into the crevices of the machine, which could possibly damage it. There are unfortunately small holes where this could easily occur. Unfortunately when you tighten the blades down, it's really difficult to get them untightened (Believe me, I'm a man, it's hard!). I end up having to get a pair of pliers and using them backwards (grip handles on the device) to get the blades out.

Another issue with the blender that has to potential to drive me nuts is the small removable top (not the main blender top, but the small plastic piece you can remove to stuff food down). There is a hole in it! Not large, probably about 1/4 inch, but it's still large enough that if you blend just right your stuff will come out of the blender. There is absolutely nothing you can do about this, shy of sticking a napkin or paper towel down it while blending. Bosch wanted this to act more like a funnel, but I just don't get the point of having a hole here.

Hands down, this is a great unit, and Bosch has a known reputation of creating kitchen units that last for years, even decades!
